"A group of history students, who had organized the protest, buried a copy of the Constitution, which they claimed had been murdered when US troops were sent into Cambodia without a declaration of war by Congress."
"Twice, while the rally was in progress, passing police cruisers were hit with beer bottles"
"... and a bonfire was set in the street."
"The crowd blocked traffic for about an hour and then moved toward the center of town. Some members of the crowd began to break windows. Primarily "political targets" were attacked, including banks, loan companies, and utility companies."
"The now 2,000 marchers swarmed the hill overlooking the Commons and crossed the Commons. Then they surrounded the ROTC building, an old wooden World War II barracks that was scheduled to be demolished. Windows were broken and a few persons eventually set the building on fire."
" Firemen arrived on the scene but their actions were abandoned because some of the crowd attacked the firemen and slashed their hoses. "
You conveniently leave out a few facts. The massacre took place on May 4, 1970. The fire hose was slashed on May 2, 1970 (two days before the massacre).

Get a clue, the rioting lasted throughout those 4 days. It takes awhile to call up the Guard. If they had stopped on the 2nd nobody would have gotten killed.
The corrupt/greedy rich will not surrender easily. This will get much worse before it gets better.

NO ONE with an ounce of intestinal fortitude is going to surrender to any of you Leftist; not today, not tomorrow, not next year, NOT EVER!
The massacre took place two days later.
Massacre? I don't think so. In any case the same thugs that caused the violence, arson, and widespred property damage must also bear responsibility for the deaths. No criminal actions=no deaths.
If you play with fire you might get burned. Anyone who thinks that throwing rocks and bottles (and maybe shooting) at armed and frightened young NG's is a good idea is probably too stupid live long anyway.
Kent State shootings - Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaThe shootings killed four students and wounded nine. Two of the four students killed, Allison Krause and Jeffrey Miller, had participated in the protest, and the other two, Sandra Scheuer and William Knox Schroeder, had been walking from one class to the next at the time of their deaths. Schroeder was also a member of the campus ROTC chapter. Of those wounded, none was closer than 71 feet to the guardsmen. Of those killed, the nearest (Miller) was 265 feet away, and their average distance from the guardsmen was 345 feet.
I guess it doesn't matter that the protesters were breaking the law and that fanatics are using the protests as their battleground? They want to protest, fine. Gather them in one area, put big fence around them to keep them contained, they can protest all they want without interfering with people who just want to enjoy the parks they have taken over.the right to protest is being taken away in this country
Are you EVER not, a dumb lil' liberal idiot?Who could blame them for burning the ROTC building!?! They were protesting the escalation of the Vietnam war (invasion of Cambodia), and they didn't injure anyone. Not all those killed and wounded were even protesters.
