I for one wish the radical red states would secede.
Except for Texas they collectively have no economy whatsoever. Texas has oil - otherwise it'd be bust.
The economy of Texas is one of the largest and most rapidly growing economies in the United States. As of 2011, Texas is home to six of the top 50 companies on the Fortune 500 list and 51 overall, (third most after New York and California).[9] The Texas economy is the second largest in the nation and the 15th largest in the world based on GDP (nominal) figures. As the largest exporter of goods in the United States, Texas currently[when?] grosses more than $100 billion a year in trade with other nations.

The red states get the lions share of the federal handouts.
If the blues states could get rid of the red states our economies would boom - especially because we could get rid of most of the wingnut lunatic and run our national economy without their B.S. stopping us.
It'd be great!
Here's a thought. Stop voting for politicians that send your money to them. What a novel idea, huh. I always laugh when I see you guys bitching about all your money going to the red states while at the same time you all keep voting to do it.
