Small, well-built Chinese EV called the Seagull poses a big threat to the US auto industry...while USA by 2034 will need 71,026,000,000,000 kWh!

Nope, there is a lot of load slack at night.

You can see from 10pm to 4am energy use is A LOT lower.

Not when you plug in millions of cars over night.

Yea? How many nuclear power plants will the new rules close?
They aren’t building any to replace the coal and natural gas plants. What the fuck does that have to do with anything. They’ve closed several nuclear plants over the years so how are they replacing them? They aren’t. Can’t build new power plants that are sustainable and actually provide energy. It’s just this stupid wind and solar garbage.

Well here is one:

1.52 billion for a loan guarantee to Holtec Palisades to finance the restoration and resumption of service of an 800-MW electric nuclear generating station in Covert Township, Michigan. The project aims to bring back online the Palisades Nuclear Plant, which ceased operations in May 2022, and upgrade it to produce baseload clean power until at least 2051

Why did they close it two years ago? And now it’s going to cost tax payers 2 billion to get it back on line? What fucking clown show.

...we were talking about making up fossil energy production.

Are you going to discuss the topic or just switch to whatever argument of convinience comes up?

You posted how great spending 2 billion on a previously shut down nuclear plant was a win. Get your shit together moron.

It’s based on thousands of cars being charged over night. Are you too dumb to get that they will need massive amounts of electricity?

There are 2.5 million registered EV's in US RIGHT NOW, with probably ~500k of them charging tonight.

California alone has almost 1 million of them.

What do you want to explain to us about the impossibility of "thousands of cars being charged overnight"? :cuckoo:

You want me to switch to discussing with you gov LOAN guarantee terms or do you want to talk about energy production claims?

Come on, it's just silly dodges.

How can you not understand where that electricity has to come from? A plug on your wall isn’t some magical device pulling energy from a unicorns asshole.

I understand where it comes from. It's you who seems to have that problem, because you can't seem to get that in the off-peak hours when EV usually charge there is a lot of unused electrical generation capacity.

You don't understand volumes involved here and are just making up some bs on the fly.

We can discuss subsidies as well. The nuclear plant can support itself. Wind and solar can’t. So why was it shut down?

A nuclear energy plant can both provide enough energy for their customers and enough extra to build another nuclear energy plant. Wind and solar can’t produce enough energy in their life span to even produce another wind or solar farm. Let alone provide their customers energy.

Thats a false choice. Can have all of them.
