First, make all online sales for guns, gun accessories/add ons, and ammo ILLEGAL! Most of these rampage shootings get their ammo online anonymously.

Second, HEAVILY REGULATE ALL AMMO! Make them sign a shit ton of documents and whatnot so the authorities know whats up. You should buy this stuff IN PERSON and in limited quantities!

Third, GIVE HARSH PENALTIES TO THOSE WHO INTENTIONALLY TRY TO DODGE THE REGULATIONS AND GET GUNS/AMMO ILLEGALLY!

Guns are like cars. They need ammo to shoot, just like how cars need gas to drive and go.
If you target all the ammo, then you solve the problem without bringing up conflicts on the 2nd amendment because they will have nothing to bitch at you about.

So, no consequence for using a gun in the commission of a crime, just more worthless legislation. Time to inject, fry, or hang those using a gun in the commission of a crime. When you fail to impose the ultimate sentence and hold people accountable you serve as an enabler of continued violence. Guns, legal or illegally secured are not the issue, it is those that feel they can commit a crime of violence without consequence.

You must be a youngster. The anti-gun nuts were at it long before there were personal computers. Even if there were an infallable way to know who bought all ammo used in all crimes it wouldn't prove who pulled a trigger and maybe commited a crime. Not all firearms use fixed ammo and it's not that hard to make up in the basement in any case.
What you suggest would be a deliberate attempt to infringe (you even state that that is your purpose) on an American Constitutional rights. Not nice. Back to the drawing board

You can't get a gun online unless it's shipped to someone having a FFL license.

You can buy ammo at Walmart.

What should be done is making severe punishments for those people committing crimes with guns.

    Honest citizens shouldn't be punished.

Guns are NOT like cars. Arms are specifically mentioned in The Constitution and as such warrant FAR LESS regulation than cars.

The Constitution was intentionally written in such a way as to make clear the intent is that GOVERNMENT SHOULD LEAVE THESE ITEMS THE FUCK ALONE.
Then entire document is a regulation on the federal government intended to protect individual freedom and liberty. And the second amendment is by far the shortest and most concise amendment of them all.

Simply translated: Forget about the peoples' guns but KNOW that they have them.

The problem is, most gun owners want the ability to stockpile guns and ammunition for eventual showdowns with the government, WITHOUT the government knowing about it.

Why would you have a problem with that?

People that talk about 'show downs' are the scary ones.

Again, there is no evidence that the above proposals would have the desired effect with regard to gun violence, while likely being offensive to the Constitution.

    Survey please?

I like guns and ammo because guns are fun to shoot.
