Some Americans are very much into Japanese Anime, and attend the Otakon convention in Baltimore every year costumed as their favorite Anime characters:There is no entertainment medium in the world like Japan's anime industry but nothing about it is grounded in reality, They purposely avoid reflecting the real world because the otaku (Japanese anime fans) do not want reality or anything that resembles it.
Americans just do not get that.

In America animation is often considered to be a children's medium however in Japan it is completely opposite. Now the US Government funded the development a graphic novel about the Korean War. What if the US Government funded the development of adult oriented animation that cover serious topics like war or politics to help change American's views on animation. How about animated science fiction?
