Zone1 Should Google be forced to reveal it's search engine algorithms and change it if bias is found?

One of the most powerful weapons in the control of information is the Google search engine algorithm (SEO). For example enter any search string related to Trump and it is a guarantee the first two pages of search hits will be negative. That is an extremely powerful and subtle way to influence minds and that is exactly what the Ultra Liberal Google company is doing. IMHO there should be a highly visible and televised Congressional hearing on Google's SEO to determine how and why they bias string searches the way they do.

Secondly, they should be forced to remove the political bias from their SEO and if there is no change to the stacking of search string hits, they should be heavily penalized. Google's abuse of their considerable power in control of information flies in the face of our fundamental concept of a "Free and Independent Press".

After one realizes Google is a Liberal piece of fucking shit that will never dry out or stop stinking the better off one will be.

They are a private entity not tied to the Govt in any way.

They are allowed to be as biased as they wish.

Don't like it, create your own.

But should they be required to tell people they are doing it? Is that any different than say the ingredients on a can of soup. You can put whatever you want in there but you have to tell people who are consuming it what you put in there. Not saying they should have to divulge their actual algorithm but if there is bias built in should that have to be revealed.

Does FoxNews and CNN and MSNBC tell you what their biases are?

Kind of. It’s not a secret that Fox leans right is it and that the other 2 lean left. Most people believe the search engine is just spitting results back to them and there’s no way to know what the SEO is doing. Unless Google wants to open up the algorithm then it’s on the consumer to be educated. Right now they don’t have the ability to protect themselves.

Don't you remember arguing with leftists when they'd roll out these kind of excuses?
Which search engine can we use that delivers legitimately fair results?

I've used a number of the little known alternatives, and even their results end up getting sullied by the Google algorithms.

Name one...Which one do you use that pushes, saaaay, heavily libertarian favored results to the front?
