Do you agree with Ben Carson?

"When judges do not carry out their duties in an appropriate way, our Congress actually has the right to reprimand or remove them," Carson said. Any law on marriage should be decided by a popular referendum, and any decisions made by courts are "unconstitutional," justifying dismissal of judges, he added.
Later on in the interview, Carson agreed with Deace that ongoing spread of legalized gay marriage would make it “open season on Christians

So, guys, what do you think about popular referendum? In my opinion it's a good idea because we are proud of American democracy and we can demonstrate our will and consciousness to the whole World. Hm? Is it possible?

Popular referendum would pass marriage equality, abortion on demand, national health care, greater taxation on the wealthy, and so forth. Congress is right for three more cycles, then the natural balance of the country will swing to the middle.

Because we were smart enough at the turn of the century to see what was coming and gerrymandered like crazy, we extended social con and corporatist domination for about 20 years. That's coming to an end.

Either we change to reach out to women and minorities, or we will get gobsmacked.

“Popular referenda' are un-Constitutional.

The United States is a Constitutional Republic, not a democracy. It's a bad idea because Americans are subject solely to the rule of law, not men – as men are incapable of ruling justly; measures seeking to deny gay Americans access to marriage law are proof of that.

Carson only exhibits his ignorance of this fact, advocating for the tyranny of the majority.

Abortion on demand was not "popular referendum". It was an extremely narrow Supreme Court decision based upon a right of "choice" of a very vocal minority.

The ACA was passed without a single Republican vote. Hardly representative of "popular referendum".

Greater taxation on the wealthy is only intended to fund yet more failed Liberal programs. None of which have actually worked over the past five decades.

In short, you're not only a moron but you are.... a Brotch. :slap:

What you just wrote above makes no sense whatsoever. We are talking hypothetical and you need to read more closely.

You are arguing ideology beyond reality.

One, I wrote that popular referendum would pass all of those matters. Easily.

Two, all the ACA votes meant is that a lockstep fascist GOP in Congress voted that way for political reasons. It does not represent even the mainstream of GOP, in my opinion, much less the center and the left.

Three, more than 80% of Americans believe in some form of regulated abortion.

The GOP moved toward the center this last fall, reaching out to women and minorities. As a result, you see the far right being pushed outside of the decision making counsels in Congress. That is wise.

Our gerrymandered majority in the House is in jeopardy, and we will lose the Senate to the Dems in 2016. Study the numbers and the seats.

We the GOP can govern from the hard right for only a short time more, if we do not change.

Not a very good example since the Republicans are actually a minority party kept in the majority by extreme gerrymandering.
You have just earned yourself some extreme Brotch-slap. :slap:Crawl away, troll.
I'll gladly troll the truth any day. If the Republicans don't get on the stick and pass some of Obama's agenda they're liable to be a permanent minority party. The presidential election year electorate doesn't look kindly on those who obstruct popular programs.

Yes! Activist Judges (with poor judgment) should be removed from positions of power when their single word rules over popular vote and the general will of a nation. The Constitution does not give "special rights" to the mentally ill or to sexual deviants so Federal Judges have no business brushing the Constitution aside in favor of the demands of a "special interest group."

The conservatives have been bitching about the Court for more than 200 years.

Nothing will change.

Hmmm ... interesting! The Court system in the USA was created by Conservative Christians. The first Supreme Court Justice was John Jay:

John Jay (December 12, 1745 – May 17, 1829) was an American statesman, Patriot, diplomat, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, signer of the Treaty of Paris, and first Chief Justice of the United States (1789–95).
*snip*
As a leader of the new Federalist Party, Jay was the Governor of New York State (1795–1801), where he became the state's leading opponent of slavery. His first two attempts to end slavery in New York in 1777 and 1785 failed, but a third in 1799 succeeded.
*snip*
Jay was a member of the Church of England, and later of the Protestant Episcopal Church in America after the American Revolution. Since 1785, Jay had been a warden of Trinity Church, New York.

The Court was created by the convention, a mixture of active and weak Christians and a smattering of deists.

You are correct that John Jay was a conservative Christian (calvinistic) as well as Patrick Henry (Episcopal). Jay left the Continental Congress to avoid signing the Declaration of Independence.

As long as we agree that the Judicial system (one branch of our triune, governmental system) was the brainchild of Christian conservatives then my point is made and I shall move on.

We don't agree at all, because you are wrong.

They were not Christian conservatives, other than Henry and Jay.

All judges who write laws should be removed. The constitution says only congress can write laws.
