My son had to drop 'Chaucer' because the instructor had such a thick Indian accent. The kid couldn't tell if he was speaking Hindu or English. Something is wrong with this, how did this guy get through the interview?

An expert command of the English language should be a basic requirement for any teacher.

I had to drop a math class at Berkeley because the instructor couldn't speak English. He would write numbers on the board and then wave his arms around.

I don't speak arm-waving.

That is incredibly offensive. Blame the educrat bureaucracy and their PC agenda for hiring teachers who can't speak English. The teachers came to America to make a life for themselves. Just as most of our ancestors did.

nice post WW, I had a Dr in Minn from pakastan or the like ...I dont know if his english got better over the course of 2 years or I had to see him so much I started to understand his pigese or whatever it was... will say he was a good Dr...just had a serious communication problem. trouble was the town could not get an american born Dr to sign on...to far to the mall...120 miles....and made more $$$$ in the big citys...

Although I had some barely english-speaking professors, I also had some who were there only for the research grants. 15% of our grade was based on the lab assistance we gave, which involved answering mind bending surveys conducted by grad students. I felt much more sympathy for the non-english speakers.

Had that teacher when I was in Algebra..didn't learn anything but still passed the class.. even though she missed have of my wrong answers on my test, but still passed with and A. just hang in there and you'll pass with flying colors.

A lacking command of the English language is not restricted to the foreign...I have heard some Americans speak an English unlike anything I was ever taught...the bad thing of it is, these people are on the NEWS, where the average American goes to LEARN things!!!!! Oy vey!

Trust me, not easy. Sitting in my own back yard, own mind you-not rent. A neighbor has the gall to come and tell me it's not ok to have a beer while grilling. I picked my copy of the constitution out of my pocket and said, "Where?" He went away and stares whenever I have friends over on the deck. I figure he's a degenerate. Best guess, he has porno on his hard drive.
