She must have liked it

Exploitation and domestic violence is not the same as kidnapping and human slavery. He's still in jail. And it would not surprise me if this "mentally unstable" female finds herself in another dangerous relationship. Dangerous games can have ugly consequences. She's an adult.

i love this attitude...she's an adult...implying it was alright to exploit her

Never said exploitation was "right". But let the punishment fit the crime.

My sympathy for people who get hurt in kinky sex games is about a 1 on the compassion scale.

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — A Wisconsin woman said she answered an apartment ad she saw on Craigslist and wound up being held captive as a sex slave in Brooklyn for more than a week.
John Hopkins, 45, has been arrested on rape charges. The alleged victim said Hopkins held her in his East Williamsburg apartment on Humboldt Street for eight days.
The Brooklyn district attorney said Hopkins told the woman on the telephone she could live with him for free if she cooked and cleaned. However, when she arrived at his home on Feb. 4, Hopkins allegedly told her she was his slave.
The woman told police that she was handcuffed to a radiator and raped repeatedly. She said she was allowed out at least once, but handcuffed again when she returned.

Women really frighten you don't they, Fit?

Hey don't feel bad, real women frighten a lot of men like you, too.

Hell there's an three religious cultures that have as one of their central tenants myths that justify men's fear of women.

Fear of women is to some degree or the other a common theme found in all Abrahamic religions, really.

We see that misogynic fear playing out in varying degrees in Judeaism, Christianity and Islam.

I have read about many cases where after a person is kidnapped for a while, the person will break down and listen to whatever the kidnapper says, if you are good at brainwashing the victim you can take your victims out in public and they will not say or do anything. Like the girl in Utah who was kidnapped at age 8, she stayed in the families backyard for decades and had 2 children with the man, she had many chances to escape but did not. Alot of people develop Stockholm Sydrome and begin to like their attackers and hostage takers, after a while the desire to escape just goes away.

Some rape victims start to believe that they actually caused the attack. It was their fault. They were in the wrong neighborhood.

This phenomenon happens outside of the sexual condition too.

That is the same reason some Americans who are forced to live with "invading Mexicans" slowly take their side and begin calling them "poor unfortunate immigrants". They start to lose their sense of being an American and their sense of duty to defend America against invasion by foreigners. They begin to see the Mexicans as victims. They don't even realize they are being "raped" mentally and are being used as propaganda against loyal Americans.

I read one case where this guy kidnapped a woman and had her for a few years, he actually went with her to visit her family. He told her not to say anything and to tell her family she ran away with him to get married and he was her husband, they actually went into the familys home and were there for hours and she didn't say a word, by the time this guy actually started letting the woman leave the house she was already broken down and had no more resistance.

Im sorry no.
The whole episode didnt last but a week and a day and she was let out once at some point, I cannot fathom anyone that week minded .

You would be surprised, it doesn't that as long you think to shatter someones soul and being. Besides if she liked being there he wouldn't need the cuffs anymore and no charges would have been pressed. No one knows how strong her self esteem was, so maybe it didn't take that long to break her. Who knows what the hell he did to her in that house.

Self esteem is earned and cannot be easily broken. It isnt passed out like candy unless you are a victim of public school.

You are the Right wing gift that keeps on giving, aren't you?

Read up on Stockholm Syndrome and Trauma Re-enactment. There's a reason women repeatedly find themselves in abusive relationships and it's not because they are playing 'dangerous games'.

There is an interruption of neural pathways in abuse. Brain damage literally. It can be reversed through treatement.

You don't know much about S/M. People don't get hurt in 'kinky sex games', they get hurt in abusive relationships. There's a huge difference.

S/M sex has safe words so both people can stop the activity at any time. It's about learning to have power and surrender in intimacy.

Alot of people don't understand that life style.

It's not really a 'lifestyle' for some. It's sex play. It can be very subtle and mutually satisfying in an intimate sexual relationship.

Taking it out of the bedroom and into the relationship by acting out some master slave trip in all areas of life or joining a club makes it a 'lifestyle'.

True, when it gets to that point its no longer just about sex.

When it gets to that point it's pathological. This is an interesting topic because it's possible to really discern the difference between mutual consent and abuse.

Using handcuffs can be done with consent and the person handcuffed can use a safe word to get out of the bondage whenever he or she wants to.

In captivity, there is no safe word or choice to make the scary activity stop.

Actually the people that do show imaging discipline, especially the subs. I could never do it because once the sex is over I am not interested in it anymore.

I'm not famliar with kink.com. I don't go to porn sites.

S/M can actually be healing for a woman who has been sexually abused if the woman really has a trusting lover who will always respect her safe word to stop.

I'm not sure I understand your point. What does imaging discipline and subs mean?

Ideally, S/M activity should happen between two people who really love and respect each other and want to know each others sexual limits really well.

It should be playful and consenting. Lots of things fall into this category, costumes, acting out a fantasy, naughty talk, sex toys etc,

Sky I completely typed that wrong, I meant to say the people that do that show amazing discipline, this one hour time loss is killing me.

Yes, it can be healing for someone who was sexually molested or assaulted or a former sex worker. It's about taking power and sexual enjoyment back.

Conversely, it can be negative too. Drugs and S/M are dangerous because it's harder to be sensitive to the partner or to call limits.
