As others have, found myself disappointed by at least one of the programs thus far suggesting that a 35 foot great white shark was out taking bites out of whales. You know what's more likely than a 35 foot great white biting chunks out of a whale? A 35 foot orca.
That particular documentary has some amateur building a underwater 'scooter' not 10 feet long that gets wrecked by just 16 foot sharks and he wanted to find a 35 foot version? And do what exactly? Offer himself as a snack?
The whale with the supposed bite out of its' back near the tail might have been a bite wound, but it was extremely dodgy. Coulda just as easily been the angle of the photo or some natural abnormality or birth defect. And even if it were an actual bite, it's MORE likely an orca wound than some never-before-seen "sub-species of great white shark" as he suggested.
While it's true we don't know dick about the very deep ocean, applying Occam's Razor does not result in undescribed species of 35 foot sharks white sharks.
Boo Discovery. Might as well make another megalodon documentary. Could have mermaids riding on them having jousting matches.
