Our foreign policy should be to do what in the best interest of this country and our allies, not to withdrawal into isolationism so our enemies our adversaries can fill the void .You don't make any sense. Obama is the only "leader" who doesn't do whats in the best interest of his own country. Which is why our enemies are on the move.
We could be a much greater nation if we had no scruples, nor any compunction about dishonoring the integrity that was the cornerstone of our foundation.
We could win the war on drugs by searching every household in the country and every car or pedestrian that drives or walks on our highways.
At issue here, is HOW we do things and what the benefits are when weighed against the ubuse of our personal liberties.

What, exactly, do you think is harmful in releasing a report about actions that we are no longer undertaking? About the only reason I see in keeping secrets is if they are pertinent in ongoing operations or equipment. Other than that, we should be DEMANDING that the government be as open and accountable as possible.
You are one of those that does believe that the government is not particularly good ant anything right (education and the like)? Why, all of the sudden, the complete trust in the government in this sector?
This is where the most grievous violations occur under the veil of secrecy to avoid any actual accountability. That should not be simply accepted.
Lastly, if you really do believe the above then how do you even remotely square that with a cornerstone of freedom: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."
Not constitutional protections but unalienable rights none the less and that means we must, as FREE people, respect that or we are simply another tyrant.
