Well they are 0 for 5 and keep the books open
Dems passed their "Surrender At All Cost Bill", telling the terrorists the exact date the troops will leave Iraq, they packed it with such vital military spending like millions for peanut storage, shrimp and spinach farmers, and effectively handing Iraq over to the terrorists.
In keeping with on the basic foundations of liberalism, Dems want to pass the largest tax increase in the history of the US. In the Dems new budget, they are proposing new taxes totaling near $400 billion over five years
they want to take more of everyones money.
Dems said they would "drain the swamp" of corruption and yet a little reported story about Sen Feinstein having to step down as head the Senate Military Construction Appropriations Subcommittee after reports linked her votes to her husband's companies, which received billions in military construction contracts she approved.
Draining the swamp isnt a problem cause Cheney has a very expensive life boat.
Cheney's financial ties to Halliburton, a contractor formerly headed by the VP that has been granted lucrative government contracts for Iraqi reconstruction;
Halliburton was granted a $7 billion no-bid contract, the execution of which received much scrutiny from U.S. Government auditors along with the media and various political opponents who also scrutinized the awarding of the contract, claiming that it represented a conflict of interest for Mr. Cheney. In June 2004,
the General Accounting Office reviewed the contracting procedures and found Halliburton's no-bid contracts were legal and likely justified by the Pentagon's wartime needs
Under Cheney's tenure, the number of Halliburton subsidiaries in offshore tax havens increased from 9 to 44.
Why hasnt anyone seriously considered Cheney obviously favored Halliburton, but because its "Shoots you in the face King of Denial Dick Cheney", you know you better not probe deeper.
Of course taxes are going to go up, who is going to pay these bills?
And yeah, everyone has to pay. You seem to be "Pro War" but not when the check arrives.
The difference in a Democratic Tax bill and a Republican bill is that poor people would be paying more if the Republicans wrote it.
How much the war costs a year (from CRS via the Washington Post):
$51 billion in 2003
$77 billion in 2004
$87 billion in 2005
$102 billion in 2006 (projected
As for your lame repetition of the peanut and spinach spending, read into it and find out why those are in the bill, Katrina fucked up alot of shit, and no one cares.
The Senate measure contains
$72.4 billion for military operations and the war on Terror
$27 billion for hurricane relief -$2.9 billion for Gulf Coast hurricane recovery, including $1.3 billion for New Orleans levee repairs.-
$4 billion for agricultural disaster assistance, (Katrina)
$2.3 billion for pandemic flu preparedness
$648 million for port security.
There is more, but im sure you will stop once you reach the political talking points.
Every bill gets shaved and reformed before it is finalized, im sure your "Peanuts amendment" will be lost before the bill is passed.
