Second US Civil War Starts in 2020

Dimocrats have high hopes in 2018, but they will be very upset:

1. House:
The GOP has a nice House lead and will remain mostly the same or pick up a few seats.
2. Senate will be a big win.
Foresure GOP wins: IN, MO, MT, ND, WV, FL (the popular FL gov is running) and OH (Kasich will run).
The only vulnerable seat is NV.
If they lose NV they will need to only pick up one of the following ME, MI, MN, NM, PA, VA, VT or WI. They will have 60 votes

State Legislatures: they have 3/5 now and should keep status quo

SCOTUS: btw now and 2020 there Ginsburg or Kennedy's seat opens

Then in 2020 Trump wins reelection. Liberals
Go crazy and states start voting to secede from the union. It starts out west with CA, OR and WA. Then goes east to CT, DL, NJ,MA, RI, VT and NH. Surprisingly NY remains. Then HI declares independence. More stated leave like IL, MN, CO & MY. In a surprise move Alaska declares independence. The President declares all seceding states to stand down and the military starts to mobilize. The economy starts to freefall. Large protests erupt in cities in the seceding and remaining states. People riot when basic resources become scarce.

The military sent in to quell the violence. The military becomes fragment and many have mixed feelings and loyalties. Worse yet the world starts to take sides. The U.K., France, Sweden, Belgium, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, China and Denmark support the seceding states. Russia, Australia, German, Italy, Austria, Poland, China, Japan, South Korea and Israel side with the remaining states.

Terrorist become frequent, bombings hit closer and closer to home, the military commanders fragment and show loyalty to their home states (much like how the generals didn't in the first war). By 2024 we are in full scale war.
