LONDON (Reuters) – Royal Dutch Shell Plc (RDSa.L) said it was under investigation by U.S. authorities for potential breaches of overseas bribery rules.

"Shell is currently under investigation by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission and the United States Department of Justice for violations of the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act," the company said in its 2008 annual report.

A copy of the report is available on its website at: http://www-static.shell.com/static/...formation/reports/2008/2008_annual_review.pdf

I find this hilarious and a perfect example of how many US politicians are so out of touch with the world. Most of the way the rest of the world conducts business is completely against the law here in the U.S.

Shell to Shut Down Major Pipeline in Nigeria
March 30, 2013 - Shell Nigeria, one of the largest oil companies in the Niger Delta, is planning to shut down one of the most important pipelines in the country because of 'unprecedented' levels of oil theft this year. Observers say repairing the damaged pipeline will not fix the problem.
