If I'm not mistaken Duckduckgo pulls all results directly from google but through proxy filters for pirvacy.

Searchconservative pulls them from Bing and through their own filters to exclude rabid communists sources like Rachael Maddow, CNN and NYT

And therein lies the problem. You aren't repudiating bias. You're embracing bias, and simply serving up a different flavor. By doing so you're validating the biases you claim to dislike in the first place. It makes as much sense as an activist complaining that the ice cream industry is making everyone fat, then offering the solution of eating grass flavored ice cream instead of chocolate. It's still ice cream. It's still going to make you fat. And your new search engine toy is still serving up a load of biased bullshit.

So we should ignore that search engine and stay with Google and put up with their biased bullshit?

Perhaps one should use multiple engines when searching for something of importance, instead of happily choosing one bias over another

I have to say....in all honesty.....DuckDuckGo which I use everyday......has been very disappointing of late....it has been almost like Google. Do not like that.

I've noticed that too...but suspect a big problem is the meta-tags people use on their content. There has been a big anti-trump push of negative meta-tags on Trump and conservatives - the volume gets higher search results.

Try an experiment - search for Idiot in images on DDG. There was a report a few months ago that an image search of "idiot" on Google served up a bunch of images of Trump as the first results. Now, the same thing happens on DDG. I don't believe that DDG is politically biased based on the history of the company, but that may be changing.

Again, it depends on what you're looking for.

Some time ago we were having a discussion about government limiting what drug manufacturers could charge for prescriptions. I wanted to post a link of when Hillary was first lady, and how she put a cap on flu vaccines in the US. So the drug manufacturer quit selling the vaccine in our country, and people likely became ill or perhaps even died because we didn't have enough of the medication to go around.

Google had the story, but you really had to look for it. It gave all kinds of links about Hillary, vaccines she had to take to go overseas, her opinion on Americans refusing vaccinations for children, everything but what I was looking for.

Google was the only engine I was familiar with at the time, but in situations like that, I'd like to go to a conservative engine that will post the story on the first page. That would be a time saver.
