Another interesting one from Ann Coulter.

The real class warfare in this country isn’t rich vs. poor, it’s government employees vs. we, the taxpayers, who pay their salaries.

Working for the government is supposed to be a trade-off: You can’t be fired and don’t have to exert yourself, but you will receive smaller remuneration than in the private sector, where layoffs are common (especially in the Obama economy!). Instead, government jobs are safe, secure, pressure-free — and now, amazingly lucrative!

Whether it’s in Wisconsin, Illinois, California or the nation’s capital, today’s public sector workers expect to do little or no work (I’m not counting partying in Las Vegas as “work”), and then be lavishly compensated. Often, the only heavy lifting they do all week is picking up their paychecks.

When government employees mobbed the state capitol in Wisconsin last year, the upside was: They got to bully people. The downside: Voters finally found out what these public servants were being paid.

Their compensation included not only straight salary, but also lavish overtime benefits, pensions, health care plans, sick days and vacation time (most of which they spent protesting).

The unions thought they could fight back against Gov. Scott Walker’s tiny rollbacks without anyone finding out the details. Most people saw what public employees were getting and assumed it was a misprint.

Two years ago, seven bus drivers in Madison, Wis., made more than $100,000 a year. A few years before that, we found out that the city manager of little Bell, Calif. — per capita annual income $24,800 — was making $787,637, or including benefits: $1.5 million a year. The chief of police was getting $457,000 a year — $770,046 counting benefits — making him the first chief of police to commit highway robbery on the job. The assistant city manager was taking home $376,288 per year, for a total compensation package of $845,960.

All were Democrats, the party of big government.

Speaking of which — whatever happened to that investigation Gov. Jerry Brown was launching into these thieving public servants drawing million-dollar pensions from California taxpayers? The Bell scandal broke during the California gubernatorial race between Meg Whitman and Jerry Brown, who was then state attorney general. Brown vowed a no-holds-barred inquiry...

Walker's survival is a serous blow to the imbalance created by public union tyranny.

Yeah, i hope he makes it. He really has accomplished so much in such little time. He has turned Wisconsin around. I think the Citizens of Wisconsin know that. The days of Big Union intimidation and theft are over. The Taxpayers have had enough.

That's right. Because 97% of the new wealth created last year went to the unions...oh wait no it didn't...it went to the 1%!

Taking Ann Coulters view as truth is like trusting Ken Olberman to be truth. Both are biased shills.

Public Unions allowed greed to destroy them. They no longer have the support of the People. You can only intimidate and rape the Taxpayers for so long. Their time is up. Public Unions should be abolished.

The real class warfare in this country isn’t rich vs. poor, it’s government employees vs. we, the taxpayers, who pay their salaries.

A distortion that taxpayers "should" prefer profits for private employment rather than benefits for public employment.

No one is forced to work for the Government. The time of Public Union shakedowns has now passed. Time for them to go bye bye.

I disagree. Im of the opinion that with the attack on labor going so strong while corporate welfare is allowed to run rambant, the need for MORE unions, both public and private sector, is increasing.

Scapegoating the unions while giving billions away to fat cat multinationals is leading this country to ruin.

To Republicans "job creation" is code for tax cuts for the rich. We tried that for the last 30 years, and it has not worked. Why? Because 70% of the economy is consumer demand. Putting more and more money in fewer and fewer hands reduces demand. Raise taxes on the rich, cut defense, and balance the budget the way Clinton did. George Bush almost destroyed America. Let's bring it back.

The Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest five percent of Americans cost the U.S. Treasury $11.6 million every hour, according to the National Priorities Project. Between 2001 and the current projected end of the Bush tax cut extension, tax cuts for the wealthiest 5 percent will cost the U.S. Treasury $1.184 trillion. If extended through 2021 as gop lawmakers propose, the total cost will exceed $3.2 trillion.

Government spending as a percentage of GDP is the same now as when Reagan was in office....23%. But since the financial crisis in 2008, revenues as a share of GDP have hit 60-year lows, coming in at around 15%. And yet the Republicans signed the Grover Norquist "tax pledge" not to raise taxes.

Grover Norquist is the man who is destroying America.

WASHINGTON, D.C.--The 400 highest-earning taxpayers in the U.S. reported a record $105 billion in total adjusted gross income in 2006, but they paid just $18 billion in tax, new Internal Revenue Service figures show. That works out to an average federal income tax bite of 17%--the lowest rate paid by the richest 400 during the 15-year period covered by the IRS statistics. The average federal tax bite on the top 400 was 30% in 1995 and 23% in 2002.

Yea, well, the forty dollars or so you might have paid in taxes don't buy much.

Really? The US Treasury sends checks totalling $11.6 million an hour to the wealthiest five percent?

Holly shit public employees are paid 4% less than private counterparts and it’s the public employees who are greedy. Billionaires want more tax cuts and it’s not them that are greedy it’s the people that simply want a job so they can put food on their table. Jesus Christ right wingers need to let their bodies die because their brains died long ago they are simply zombies eating away at society
