Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis standing firm as gays want her in jail

I disagree I believe her religious rights trump some whiny perverts rights. The tide is turning and eventually the trash will wash back out with it.
The tide already turned dumbass. And the good guys won.
Nah you have a false sense of what is good and bad. But you just stand firm on that false security there.
Those who sought to deny same-sex couples access to marriage law were wrong, rather than 'bad'; they may have held their position in good faith but clearly that position was repugnant to the Constitution and its case law, where seeking to disadvantage a class of persons based solely on who they are in fact violates the 14th Amendment, as the Obergefell Court held.

Now that it is the law of the land that same-sex couples are entitled to enter into marriage contracts, it's incumbent upon all the officers of the states and local jurisdictions to follow that law of the land, and issue qualified couples marriage licenses, where doing so in no way 'violates' religious liberty.
It does when that is her name on that license certificate. States will regain their own rights for the people to vote on this issue and you guys will be out.
The rights of others aren't up for a vote, and never should have been...
The rights of the perverted, what a joke. The people have the right to vote against the attempt to overcome their own God given rights to deny such perversion. Yes these issues are definitely going to be voted on. Get back into the darkness where you belong.

Kinda turns her argument that it violates her religion upside down and inside out.
Sure does.
Someone speculated that she wants to become a martyr and get rich from all this.
Both of you failed to read the link or her testimony;

In addition to my desire to serve the people of Rowan County, I owe my life to Jesus Christ who loves me and gave His life for me. Following the death of my godly mother-in-law over four years ago, I went to church to fulfill her dying wish.

There I heard a message of grace and forgiveness and surrendered my life to Jesus Christ. I am not perfect. No one is. But I am forgiven and I love my Lord and must be obedient to Him and to the Word of God.

I never imagined a day like this would come, where I would be asked to violate a central teaching of Scripture and of Jesus Himself regarding marriage.

To issue a marriage license which conflicts with God's definition of marriage, with my name affixed to the certificate, would violate my conscience. It is not a light issue for me. It is a Heaven or Hell decision. For me it is a decision of obedience.
Do you understand that her position is without merit, do you understand that her personal religious beliefs have no bearing on the issue, and do you understand that her 'argument' has no legal basis whatsoever.
I do not agree with you. I do think though that this hatred being exhibited towards the faithful and believers will come back a hundred fold to haunt those that are trying to scramble what God created. I am willing put my heart with hers for standing on her new found faith. If by chance she does go to jail she won't be the first to do so based on lies and deceit from those who desire to dispel another's faith.
You're at liberty to disagree, provided you understand and acknowledge that as a fact of law you are wrong, as is the clerk.

Moreover, no 'hatred' is being directed at the faithful or believers in any official or legal capacity; that there might be a tiny minority of private persons who do so is not representative of the majority, nor are their actions condoned by the majority.

Last, your attempt to propagate the lie that this is some sort of 'attack' on religion will only serve to further undermine your already untenable position.
Sure and I bet you'll go right on down their into Kentucky and tell all those Rednecks your position on the matter.

The tide already turned dumbass. And the good guys won.

1. It's not God-given. 2. You don't get a vote, nor ever should have been. We are not a democracy...

Couples ask judge to hold Rowan Co. clerk in contempt after she denies licenses

These whiners unwilling to just drive to another county can't bowl her over so they plead with a Federal judge to have her held in contempt.
Ignorant nonsense.

Officers of the states are required by the Constitution to follow Federal laws and the rulings of Federal courts.

Residents of that county are first and foremost citizens of the United States, their rights manifest in every jurisdiction of the United States, including the right to obtain a license and marry in their jurisdiction of residence.

No, her religious rights do not trump her requirement to do her job as the law requires. She is welcome to believe as she wishes and to worship as she chooses. But she is NOT welcome to decide to ignore the ruling of the SCOTUS. She is NOT welcome to cherry-pick a single religious text and force others to abide by her pickings.

He has an accurate sense of what is constitutional.

Ky. clerk in gay marriage fracas married 4 times: records

The Kentucky county clerk who is stopping gay couples from being marriedbecause of her literal interpretation of the Bible has herself been married four times and conceived twins by having sex outside her marriage, according to court records.

Kim Davis, 49, who has defied the U.S. Supreme Court and continues to refuse to issue marriage licenses to same sex-couples, was married and divorced three times — in 1994, 2006 and 2008, according to U.S. News & World Report.

She gave birth to twins five months after she divorced her first husband. The father of those twins was her third husband, according to the records.

I find it disgusting that you agree with cherry-picking passages in the bible, and yet scream bloody murder about constitutional violations from the left.

You are free to worship as you choose. What you are NOT free to do is require that federal, state and local gov'ts operate under your religious beliefs.

The woman has two choices. If she cannot, in good conscience, issue marriage licences to same sex couples, then she should resign. The highest court in the land has ruled on gay marriage and on her refusal to issue licences. That is the end of it.

She can do what she feels is right while she sits at home. The minute she swears an oath to uphold the constitution, she cannot based laws on any particular religion.

That's what pisses you lefty's off the most.

The left doesn't give a rat's ass if SHE issues licenses. That the licenses are issued is the point.

She is perfectly willing to issue licenses to people who have been married multiple times. That is against biblical law as well. Funny how she doesn't care about that.

Ginsberg is going to die from old age or retire. Our GOP president will replace her. Soon enough we will install our SCOTUS and strike this ruling from the books. Gays can go back to butt fucking strangers without committing adultery as they are now.

Not a problem. I have done just that. I argued about it in a small diner in Sandy Hook KY (pop.678). That town is full of rednecks. But then, I am a redneck too (by many standards). I am just not ignorant. I am just not demanding that the gov't cater to my faith and ignore the US Constitution.

Kim would have been perfect in Misery, I can see her hobbling applicants now.

Fair question, How did this woman snatch four husbands?
It's puzzling isn't it?

She belongs in jail, until Hell has a place for her...

How many of her marriages were perverted? Any to dogs? Clothespins? Women?

It's entirely possible that she was a long time sinner, then became a Christian. If the perverts become Christian and stopped being perverts, they would have no complaint.

You are correct, and according to the information in the link provided she became a Christian only 4 years ago.

It boils down to some very simple facts.

Kim Davis, as an individual is welcome to her religious beliefs.

But Kim Davis, in her official capacity as County Clerk of Rowan County, is required to abide by state and federal laws. She is a representative of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Which, as a state in the United States of America, is required to abide by the US Constitution. The US Constitution gives the US Supreme Court the authority and power to rule as it did.

She can say whatever she wants on her own time. But as County Clerk, she can either abide by the rules, resign inprotest, or face the penalties associated with her refusal to perform her duties.

Kim Davis says she is actingn under God's authority ? Does God sign her paycheck ?

Just STFU Kim Davis By the way Kim God wants to talk to you about being married four times ...Uh Uhh says God ....

Kim Davis is "an entitled white woman" ....her mother held the office before she did ...her son is employed at her office...Kim Davis believes that the Clerk's Office is her "own private Idaho"...that she is entitled to do whatever she wants regardless of the Law...this Sharia Law advocate wants the Bible over the Constitution....
