Ron Paul apparently has a warning for America.

Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) says President Obama's continued use of the executive order "brings the modern presidency dangerously close to an elective dictatorship."

"That is arrogant," Paul said of Obama frequently using the executive order function as of late. "It is flaunting the Constitution and the whole principle of how we’re supposed to operate. The idea they can just do this and take over the legislative function and brag about it -- and Congress does nothing and the courts do nothing about it, it's very, very bad."

"He's dictatorial, is what he is," Rep. Paul said before the end of the interview.

Really? What's the number of EOs that Obama has signed in a little less than 3 years? The answer is 100.

In 8 years in office, Reagan signed 381 Executive Orders.

Based on the numbers, who better qualifies as a dictator?

Ron Paul apparently didn't do the math.

It's too many. I don't care about comparisons to past Presidents. That doesn't make it right. And this current President did openly & publicly announce he would no longer be working with Congress. That was pretty brazen on his part. The MSM has been very quiet on this. So shame on them too. Dr. Paul is right...As usual.

the problem with such statements is that a dictator only gains power if they have the bakcing of the military and/or police force.......

i just dont see that happening in america.....

Booosh sucked and so does Barry. Ron Paul is correct and if he gets our nomination I will work hard to campaign and support him.

There ain't no ON THE VERGE about it.

This man believes himself one. Him and his Comrades in arms administration think they can do anything they damn well please, including putting TAXES (Christmas trees) on the people WITHOUT Congress..

WAKE UP PEOPLE

House Republicans need to act without Obama. They need to get control of the spending and ignore Obama

The other problem is our founding fathers did not want a complete democracy, which is why the President has executive orders.

"brings the modern presidency dangerously close to an elective dictatorship."

The title of the thread is not what Ron Paul said. Either learn to read or at least consider not making stupid threads.

Ron Paul apparently didn't do the math.

Like I said in an earlier post, Newt G has said that he would sign up to 200 EOs on his first day in office. If Obama's 100 EOs in slightly less than 34 months in office (about 3 a month) qualifies as a dictatorship, how should a person classify 200 EOs in one day?

It's basically more nonsense from the RW, particularly from RW presidential candidates.

It's RW fear-mongering in the attempt to grab power. You know what I mean? It's like when conservatives want to restrict access to voting by putting up all kinds of blockades (like only accepting certain IDs, and reducing early voting, and restricting registration dates prior to elections). They use fear of voter fraud to put in place a series of laws that will end up disenfranchising American voters who, it just so happens, are more likely to vote for Democrats than Republicans.

They have to misquote him. It's the only way they can continue deluding themselves. He's THEIR Dictator,so everything's just fine in their Hopey Changey fairy tale.

What I think you are missing is what Obama wants to sign his EO's for... It's one thing to demand less than it is to demand more. Cutting spending is not the same as adding vastly more to the deficit.
