Liar.
Directly quoting Obama makes me a "liar?"
"The Obama administration's first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks," Romney said in a statement first emailed to reporters at 10:09 p.m. Eastern time, under the condition it not be published until midnight.
That is NOT what Romney said, liar.
{America will not tolerate attacks against our citizens and against our embassies. We'll defend, also, our constitutional rights of speech and assembly and religion. We have confidence in our cause in America. We respect our Constitution. We stand for the principles our Constitution protects. We encourage other nations to understand and respect the principles of our Constitution, because we recognize that these principles are the ultimate source of freedom for individuals around the world.
I also believe the administration was wrong to stand by a statement sympathizing with those who had breached our embassy in Egypt instead of condemning their actions. It's never too early for the United States government to condemn attacks on Americans and to defend our values. The White House distanced itself last night from the statement, saying it wasn't cleared by Washington, and that reflects the mixed signals they're sending to the world.} - Mitt Romney
Now do you notice the difference?
I actually post the words said, where you post what ThinkProgress says ABOUT what Romney said.
The dishonest one is you.
And I understand why, this is it for Obama, this will cost him the election. You think that if you and the party press scream enough, that maybe you can change it - but you can't.
In fact, neither a statement by the U.S. Embassy in Cairo earlier in the day nor a later statement from Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton offered sympathy for attackers.
What I posted was said by Barack Obama.
The statement from the Cairo Embassy had condemned anti-Muslim religious incitement before the embassy walls were breached. In her statement, issued minutes before Romney's, Clinton had offered the administration's first response to the violence in Libya, explicitly condemning the attack there and confirming the death of a State Department official.
What all of these did is excuse the actions of the attacking Muslims. In essence; "We understand why you are outraged, and we're outraged too - but violence is still bad."
This is an apology, it is apologetics.
Obama is unqualified to be President, and demonstrated this to the world.

Yesterday we noted that Mitt Romney, down in the polls after the convention, was throwing the kitchen sink at President Obama. Little did we know the kitchen sink would include -- on the anniversary of 9/11 -- one of the most over-the-top and (it turns out) incorrect attacks of the general-election campaign . Last night after 10:00 pm ET, Romney released a statement on the attacks on the U.S. embassies in Egypt and Libya. After saying he was outraged by these attacks and the death of an American consulate worker, Romney said, It's disgraceful that the Obama administration's first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks. Yet after learning every piece of new information about those attacks, the Romney statement looks worse and worse -- and simply off-key. First, Romney was referring to a statement that the U.S. embassy in Egypt issued condemning the efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims. But that embassy statement, which the White House has distanced itself from, was in reference to an anti-Islam movie and anti-Islam pastor Terry Jones, and it came out BEFORE the embassy attacks began. Then this morning, we learned that the U.S. ambassador to Libya, Chris Stevens, and others died in one of the attacks

Just saw where Romney is refusing to apologize for his politically motivated statement that the Americans in the Embassy, fearing for their lives, were terrorist sympathizers.
What a pompous self righteous ass Romney is...
When did Romney condemn dead Americans?

only time I will agree that Mitt shouldn't say things just because there true.
I'm really inquiring about the quote, so your kind of admitting you leftists want to dictate to the people? This Chomsky is right and they are trying their best for Marxist change but the people get that and it's why Fox is up in the ratings. That really bugs me that quote because its happening

Romney's statement came before the deaths in Libya, which is why his statement was correct, but premature. That's why Romney's statement has been more of a story than the murders themselves.

Except there was never an apology or sympathy given by the Embassy or the adminitration, Mittens shouldn't have lied about it. He disgraced himself and the entire Republican party.
What I heard is that it was Jones who made the video.
The important point is that Mitt was wrong to attack an America embassy. There is no way you rw's can spin that fact.
Obama's statement was as it always is - measured and appropriate. He did not put Americans at even more risk by getting into a back and forth with Mitt or the video. He DID make it clear that those responsible were in our sights and if you rw's remember, when he has done that before, our enemies have died.
The mistake that MittWitt made was in jumping the gun, criticizing the embassy and then trying to make it about Obama. He should have shut up until he had some idea what he was talking about.

Yeah, who are people going to believe? Their lying ears, or the revisions submitted by ThinkProgress?
Boo, give it up, you can't lie your way out of this. Obama is a fuckup, he engaged in apologetics for those attacking us, and demonstrated what a complete disaster he is as POTUS.
What puts Romney's statement in a whole different context is the fact that there was no protest or demonstration at the Libyan consulate office at all!
The obama's failed regime is falling apart at the seams and being torn in its body. It is in tatters.
The transcripts and timelines don't lie.
There was never an apology or sympathy given.
There was never an apology by the admin.
