Question 13
If the federal government shuts down, do you
think that Barack Obama or the Republicans in Congress
would be more responsible for that?

Republicans 51%
Both 12%
Neither 3%
No opinion 1%

CNN Poll: Who would get blamed for government shutdown? ? CNN Political Ticker - CNN.com Blogs

If the government shuts down, the Republicans in Congress may take more of the blame: 44 percent of Americans say they would blame the Republicans in Congress more if there is a partial shutdown of the federal government on Oct. 1, while fewer - 35 percent - would put more of the blame on Barack Obama and the Democrats in Congress. Sixteen percent volunteer that they would blame both sides equally.

Poll Results - Bloomberg

Blame Democrats - 39%
Blame GOP - 45%

Every Poll I'm seeing places the blame on this retarded shutdown on the GOP...and rightfully so. Pushing your own personal agenda through a blackmail threat since you don't have the votes otherwise is truly evil.

How come the Government shuts down every Friday and Opens again Monday Morning? Put them all on Salary, no Overtime, and stagger their shifts, so that the Government never has to close down again. ;) Let's max out their Vacation time to 4 Weeks a Year, that should help. ;) Just trying to do my part. :):):)
:eusa_whistle::eusa_whistle::eusa_whistle::eusa_whistle::eusa_whistle::eusa_whistle::eusa_whistle:

So if the Fed shuts down, the sky will fall and the oceans will start rising again, right?

Somehow I don't think so.

United States Senate elections, 2014 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

LOL

Unless the GOP screws up before next year, the Dems are Fucked.............

Class 2 elections states

Obama the lame duck next year unless he pulls a rabbit out of his ass next year............

Couldn't have asked for a better Class to get voted on. While they will retain the Dark Blue States, the other state's have turned red in 2012 if you look at the shift in State Power.

LMAO..............Crystal ball says you screwed next year Dems...........

Thus the no compromise now deal. They expect losses next year.

You dumbshits said the same thing in 2012 and look how that turned out :cuckoo:

The american people are far more intelligent than the right wing brainwashed morons.

Republicans are being "assigned" the blame. We all know from USMB Republicans, they never take the blame for anything. Not for:

Iraq
The tens of thousands of Americans killed and maimed in Iraq
The busted economy
Wanting the auto industry to die
Fighting against Americans having healthcare
Wanting to lower the minimum wage
Fighting against equal pay
What happened after Katrina
The deficit
Jobs moving to China

The list is endless. They take no responsibility for anything. Nothing. Even when they block the BP investigation or hold unemployed hostage to get more tax cuts for the wealthy. None of it is their fault.
I think you forgot Sun Spots, That is some deap shit, dude, .... no really.
Thanks for taking the time to share all of these special truths with us.
We are all better off for it. :):):)

Dems need to man up and take responsibility for those actions.

More than a third of the people polled will blame Obama somehow. Those aren't very good numbers.
And we have not seen how this plays out yet.

Dems ignored the signs in 2010 and were badly beaten. Now they're doing the same thing again, forcing worthless stuff down our throats.

Forget about what happened in 2012 after the american people got a taste of the fascist teabaggers?

Seriously...just for a moment imagine that it is 2006 and it is Nancy Pelosi threatening to shut down the government if her budget that did not include tax cuts for the rich were passed.

Oh the things the Fox heads would be calling her right now...

It was with bi=partisan support WE ALL received tax reductions.
In any event it is OUR money.
Your side views taxation with the premise that all income and earnings belong to the government.
Case and point. When two high ranking officials in the IRS say things like "well, we let you keep 70% of your income", that's the kind of greed and arrogance that flows from bureaucrats right to the public.

The ACA was voted on and passed legislatively, just as the Bush tax cuts were. If Nancy Pelosi's had threatened a government shutdown or to not raise the debt ceiling in 2007 over an extension of the Bush tax cuts for the top 2%, what would you be saying about her now?

Well no not really. Not a single Republican voted for it. It passed using the most dishonest tactics the Dems could muster. It is opposed by 60% of Americans and that number goes up with every poll.

Since much of the debate is focused on the Healthcare law also known as Obamacare we should also take a look at how the public feels about it.
RealClearPolitics - Election Other - Public Approval of Health Care Law

That is not the same thing as wanting it repealed or for there to be a government shutdown or a "showdown" over the debt limit in an attempt to repeal it. Many of the people unhappy with the ACA do not believe it went far enough since it didn't include the Public Option an actual majority of people supported.

Since a government shutdown will not affect the citizenry in any major way, the political squabble will soon be forgotten and the MSM will go back to flattering Obama and his cronies.

How quickly they forget. The Bush tax cuts were passed in 2001 and 2003 by reconciliation.

The GOP chose not to have anything to do with Health Care reform. They chose not to sit at the table to which they were invited.

The GOP has been trying two things..

Lay the blame on Obama. Lay the blame on Cruz.

Neither is working.

I think you will find they are working better than expected SFBs! Also, liberal poll sources are usually manipulated.

The blame WOULD be primarily caused by Obama and Reid! Citizens are realizing that more than they did in the past.

People who have nothing of substance to post and cannot offer a rebuttal always seem to blame the MSM, or in this case, "liberal sources". The one question I have for birddog: Did you get a full brain wash, or was a light rinse only needed?

What happened? Statistically, Obama was a 3-1 favorite to win due to incumbency.
other than that, democrats made minimal gains in Congress.
Compare that to 2010 when dems lost over 600 national and state seats.
You should also note that in 30 states, the respective governments are GOP dominated.

Those silly republicans won't compromise.

President Barack Obama said:
And that’s why I will not negotiate on anything when it comes to the full faith and credit of the United States of America.
Obama draws no-compromise line | The Tennessean | tennessean.com
Oh wait, it is the democrat President of the United States that refuses to negotiate.
On the debt ceiling, Reid gave a flat “no” when asked if he would be willing to consider any of the possible things Republicans were asking for in exchange for voting to raise the debt ceiling, ...
Reid: No negotiations with GOP on government funding, debt ceiling | The Daily Caller
And democrat Senator Harry Reid also refuses to compromise.

Silly obstructionist republicans.

Forget? Methinks some are liars and some have been brain washed by the liars from the Ministry of Truth.
