Republicans taking Blame for Shutdown - Polls

The house has passed a sensible bill that would fund every aspect of govt and delay the implementation of ACA for one year. The dems admit that there are a lot of problems with the bill, the unions don't want it, 65% of america does not want it in its current form.

if Reid and obama do not agree with the sensible house bill and allow the govt to shut down, then its all on them. Their refusal to compromise would be the reason for the shutdown and the american people are smart enough to realize that, even though the MSM will lie about it.

The right wingers are acting like a bunch of 2 year olds that isn't get their way, so they are throwing a tantrum on epic proportions.

There is no negotiating with the affordable care act, it's already been passed into law. What is so hard for the right wing idiots to understand about that?

Obama kicked out a bunch of the law with waivers, so I guess you would say he is wrong and couldn't live with his law! Hmmm:cuckoo:

If you don't like legally passed (and upheld by the SCOTUS) legislation, you repeal it legislatively, you don't hold the government and the full faith and credit of the United States hostage because you can't do it the legal and legislative way.

Answer honestly, how would you have reacted in 2006 if Pelosi had done this over the Bush tax cuts?

Legally...........................LOL

Since when did the Constitution give the Dems the power to post pone elements of a law for a year............

Are we ruled by a dictator or a Republic....................They have no legal right to post pone without Congressional approval, but they do it anyway.

Of course they delay the employer mandate til after the elections...............Typical..........................

The people deserve the full law now before the elections so they can vote these Idiots out...............

I've got news for you, Americans by and large don't like this law. You've got to Hurry and give away Free shit quickly, to control the mob. You know once the free shit gets handed out you'll win votes. While the productive ones get fucked by this law. Let's ignore that data.

Finally, the Dems STOLE 716 BILLION from Medicare. Throwing Grandma and Grandpa under the bus for a Liberal Utopia...........................

Does the GOP realize that shutting down the Govt. is not going to stop the law they say is so important to stop and so damaging to this country? If they force a shutdown, it will be their own doing.

oh well, this should make you sheep of the democrat party orgasmic...

go pop the champagne

Question 13
If the federal government shuts down, do you
think that Barack Obama or the Republicans in Congress
would be more responsible for that?

Obama 33%
Republicans 51%
Both 12%
Neither 3%
No opinion 1%

Poll Results - Bloomberg

Blame Democrats - 39%
Blame GOP - 45%

Every Poll I'm seeing places the blame on this retarded shutdown on the GOP...and rightfully so. Pushing your own personal agenda through a blackmail threat since you don't have the votes otherwise is truly evil.

The American people correctly understand that funding the government and ensuring the government pays its bills is the responsibility of Congress, not the Executive.

Americans also correctly understand the idiocy of the republican position, that the president must ‘negotiate’ concerning the ACA; a president cannot be compelled to ‘negotiate’ legislation in place for three years. That’s as ridiculous as returning to the dealer from whom you bought your car three years ago and demanding the dealer ‘negotiate’ a new deal.

Funding for the ACA or whether the ACA exists or not is solely the purview of Congress, separate and apart from its responsibility to address the financial well-being of the Nation.

And the fact that republicans continue to fail to repeal the ACA in no way justifies them to hold hostage the economy in an attempt to achieve through threats and intimidation what they’ve failed to accomplish legislatively.

The Founding Fathers disagree with you. They gave the power of the purse to the House for a reason.

Lock and load it...................

first of all the "full faith and credit of the US" line is total bullshit. There is plenty of money to pay our debts, the US will not default on its debts. That is a dem/lib lie.

If ACA is law, then how can obama change the implementation of it in violation of the law?

There is nothing in the law that gives the president the authority to grant exemptions, subsidies, and delays for big business.

If Pelosi tried to block the Bush tax rates in accordance with congressional rules, there would be nothing wrong with that. The truth is that the dems believed in the tax cuts for everyone who pays taxes------BTW obama continued the bush tax rates when he could have repealed them.

If it wasn't standard operating procedure for Republicans, maybe the public would believe them

If you don't concede to our demands, we will shut down Government

Once Government is shut down, it is YOUR fault because you didn't concede to our demands

That is exactly the way they are trying to play that.

The House of Representatives cannot only refuse, but they alone can propose, the supplies requisite for the support of government. They, in a word, hold the purse — that powerful instrument by which we behold, in the history of the British Constitution, an infant and humble representation of the people gradually enlarging the sphere of its activity and importance, and finally reducing, as far as it seems to have wished, all the overgrown prerogatives of the other branches of the government. This power over the purse may, in fact, be regarded as the most complete and effectual weapon with which any constitution can arm the immediate representatives of the people, for obtaining a redress of every grievance, and for carrying into effect every just and salutary measure.

That is exactly what obama is saying, give me everything I want or I will shut down the govt and try to blame you.

the house is trying to negotiate, obama is refusing. the american people can see what is really going on.

CNN Poll: Who would get blamed for government shutdown? ? CNN Political Ticker - CNN.com Blogs

If the government shuts down, the Republicans in Congress may take more of the blame: 44 percent of Americans say they would blame the Republicans in Congress more if there is a partial shutdown of the federal government on Oct. 1, while fewer - 35 percent - would put more of the blame on Barack Obama and the Democrats in Congress. Sixteen percent volunteer that they would blame both sides equally.

When liberals have a clear path to creation of the narrative due to a complicit and supportive main stream media, bolstered by polls taken to left leaning organizations, this comes as no surprise.
The fact is the House today, sent a sensible spending bill to the senate to which Sen Majority Leader Reid, stated there will be no compromise.
Obama, who has stated many times "no one is going to get 100% of what they want" has contradicted that quote by saying "I will not negotiate"..
To that end, it is the DEMOCRATS who will cause the government shut down.
Which in and of itself is a lie because only small areas and non-essentials will be curtailed.
It's a whole lot of political bluster from those on the stick in the mud left.
This is YOUR deal. YOU get to own it.
And you WILL own it.

If it was passed into law, obama couldn't change it at his whim. He is. Congress has to pass funding and they aren't.

Let obama shut down the government by vetoing the funding for the whole government to save his pet.

The ACA is part of the mandatory funding dumbass, the right wingers could shut the nation down for 10 years and the ACA would still be fully funded.

Delaying Parts of Obamacare: 'Blatantly Illegal' or Routine Adjustment?

The Administration has not postponed the employer mandate out of policy opposition to the ACA, nor to the specific provision itself. Thus, it's misleading to characterize the action as a "refusal to enforce." Rather, the President has authorized a minor temporary course correction regarding individual ACA provisions, necessary in his Administration's judgment to faithfully execute the overall statute, other related laws, and the purposes of the ACA's framers. As a legal as well as a practical matter, that's well within his job description.

No, the President can't just arbitrarily repeal the Bush tax cuts because he wants to, it has to be done legislatively...like repealing the ACA.

Answer the question...if Pelosi had threatened not to raise the debt limit or shut down the government if the Bush tax cuts for the rich didn't expire, how would you be reacting Fishy?

United States Senate elections, 2014 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

LOL

Unless the GOP screws up before next year, the Dems are Fucked.............

Class 2 elections states

Obama the lame duck next year unless he pulls a rabbit out of his ass next year............

Couldn't have asked for a better Class to get voted on. While they will retain the Dark Blue States, the other state's have turned red in 2012 if you look at the shift in State Power.

LMAO..............Crystal ball says you screwed next year Dems...........

Thus the no compromise now deal. They expect losses next year.

Republicans are being "assigned" the blame. We all know from USMB Republicans, they never take the blame for anything. Not for:

Iraq
The tens of thousands of Americans killed and maimed in Iraq
The busted economy
Wanting the auto industry to die
Fighting against Americans having healthcare
Wanting to lower the minimum wage
Fighting against equal pay
What happened after Katrina
The deficit
Jobs moving to China

The list is endless. They take no responsibility for anything. Nothing. Even when they block the BP investigation or hold unemployed hostage to get more tax cuts for the wealthy. None of it is their fault.

Looking at that cheered me up.............

I see 19 in the bag unless the GOP implodes...............
Puts them at 50 plus.....................the limbo states.........

:eusa_shhh:

Seriously...just for a moment imagine that it is 2006 and it is Nancy Pelosi threatening to shut down the government if her budget that did not include tax cuts for the rich were passed.

Oh the things the Fox heads would be calling her right now...

It was with bi=partisan support WE ALL received tax reductions.
In any event it is OUR money.
Your side views taxation with the premise that all income and earnings belong to the government.
Case and point. When two high ranking officials in the IRS say things like "well, we let you keep 70% of your income", that's the kind of greed and arrogance that flows from bureaucrats right to the public.

Yeah, imagine that, you fucking dingbat. Well, it's 2013 - and... Nancy Pelosi absent for CR vote - Jake Sherman and John Bresnahan - POLITICO.com

What does that have to do with what I said? From your article:

“Speaker Boehner has told me he has the votes for his proposals on his side of the aisle and that he will not need our help,” Pelosi (D-Calif.) wrote in a letter to colleagues. “I have been in contact with our leadership team and Members, and we appreciate the united front from Members as we proceed.”

She should miss her 50th wedding anniversary to get sloshed with the Boehner?

Congressmen Booze As Government Shutdown Looms
Cry me a river. That was Pelosi missing her 50th gathering of ultra rich Californians at the annual Junior League fundraiser

The GOP has been trying two things..

Lay the blame on Obama. Lay the blame on Cruz.

Neither is working.

I think you will find they are working better than expected SFBs! Also, liberal poll sources are usually manipulated.

The blame WOULD be primarily caused by Obama and Reid! Citizens are realizing that more than they did in the past.

Conservatives still denying polls

Karl Rove and Dick Morris would be proud
These polls are commissioned by and for liberal organizations and political action committees.

Republicans only believe in polls they agree with. We know that from the last election.
