Republicans don't need to "work with" the President

The Dems control the House and have a large number in the Senate and they're supposed to compromise? In what universe.
Let's try this: The GOP can now block any piece of legislation the Dems propose. If Obama and the Dems want to be seen as doing something rather than sitting around they'll need to compromise.
And since the Dems come with a deficit of good faith they can begin restoring that by agreeing to scrap the health care bill.

Do you understand the concept of a compromise?

I will give you this...if you give me that

This is the way the civilized world operates.

The Dems control the House and have a large number in the Senate and they're supposed to compromise? In what universe.

I assume you mean the Republicans who are a legislative minority. In what Bizarro universe does the minority get to dictate terms?

Republicans can choose gridlock or they can work to get things done..the choice is theirs

I figure the GOP should treat Obama the way he's treated Fox News and the Tea Party.

He refused to go on the show live so he wouldn't be tripped up and he talked shit about the network every chance he got. Same goes for the Tea Party..or Tea-baggers as he calls them. So the GOP should treat him the same way. Fox News viewers are Americans too but he calls us enemies that need to be punished. He has no respect for us so why should anyone give him any.

Thanks...funniest post ever!

well after following all these posts back and forth.....if it is like this in D.C......no wonder nothing gets done......hey just sayin....

Two things OP:

1. The GOP doesn't have to "Work With" the president. The president needs to "Work With" the GOP. The left lost and therefore must give up on a majority of it's agenda.

2. The people that put them in power are STILL pissed and don't trust em yet to do what they sent them there to do: Destroy big government. They WILL be watching close.

They should focus on two things: job growth and dealing with the health-care bill.

Job Growth.

Simple, cut corporate taxes to exempt foreign earned profits. That right there would send money FLOODING back into the US.

Then audit the costs of all the regulations making jobs overly expensive in the US, and put a moritorium for extended study for eventual repeal Roll them back to 1992 standards. A huge rollback of bad regulations right there, particularly environmental ones.

End the tax exemption for businesses on offering healthcare, and give it to private citizens.

End the federal minimum wage.

Lastlly rewrite the taxcode to a flat percentage, no brackets or exemptions down to poverty level at about 15k a year. Do that, and you will have business flood back into the US.

Heath care:

Repeal P-BO Care in total. Whole thing, fucking gone.

Second, allow health insurance to compete cross state lines and people to choose a la carte coverage, instead of mandatory state mandated care when it is non-applicable. Unnecessary coverage is a leading cause of cost creep.

Re-ban public pharmaceutical advertising. This relaxation of the law allowed ads for viagra to be put in public to drive demand for drugs from the public. Costs to the drug companies exploded as they quadrupled their budget (all in advertising) for drugs.

Allow hospitals and doctors to sell care directly to the public without an insurance firm. Force public pricing of services so the public can compare medical facilities instead of playing in the dark. Transparency in pricing is a must to force competition.

Lastly, Ban national government from providing healthcare in any form. They must obtain a third party private provider whom they can fire if they are not doing the job properly.

Government is the problem. Not the solution.

The right lost..that is why they don't control the Senate or the White House

Unless they are willing to cooperate nothing will get done

And who lost now? 60+ seats I believe. largest margin of victory since the 40's IIRC. Think the public is trying to tell you libs something like knock it off?

You obviously think this is a bad thing. Conservatives win either way. Gridlock is good because it's all on the liberals now. They either compromise or they fry in 2012. Either way, conservatives win. Nothing gets done? No problem. the stabilization by stagnation will do the world a whole lot of good.

.

The Republicans control one of the three legislative legs. If they think that means they are somehow in control, they will be sadly disappointed.

three legislative legs.

THREE legislative legs? I didn't realize you counted the court as legislative. Or the was it the white house? Explains the corruption.,

There are two legs in Congress of which the Repubs control one and the Dems control the other

Dems control the White House with the Repubs unable to overturn a veto

And what branch is the white house, or do we need a civics lesson?

Second, fine, let him veto everything he wants. The next two years can be the legislative version of the Bataan Death March for the DNC if the new class does what they promised. More than happy to provide it for him.

He'll go down just like Carter did.

The Dems are in the same position as the GOP was in '06. I said at the time that the GOP needed to look at itself and get a major blood letting because the electorate was trying to tell them something (that something was, Don't act like Democrats).
They didn't do that. They got slaughtered in '08.

The Dems are equally clueless as to what this election means. With Nancy Pelosi angling to keep her position as top Dem and Obama telling his base this is a temporary setback they clearly do not get it. They will suffer slaughter in '12 just like the GOP did in '08.

How do you balance the budget when you add $4 trillion in debt through the Bush tax cuts?

Got news for you Republicans.....you are still the minority
Unless you learn to get along with others, you will get nothing done

What left wingnut site did you get that number from? The cost to extend the tax cuts is 700 billion over 10 years. That does not count the rise in revenue that always comes from letting people keep more if the money they earn. Obama and his cronies spent almost that much in 1 piece of legislation aka the stimulus.
Nice try with that lie.

In order for any compromise to work. Both sides will have to give. When The President was first elected and the Democrats had their huge majorities. They acted like Bullies and refused to budge and inch.

Now they have no choice. Compromises will have to be made.
