It's not important just to look at the promises made by the Republicans who won last night, you have to look at the past year as well.

Republicans got flack for opposing Obama's spending and overhaul of GM, the health-care reform bill, the financial reform bill, the stimulus. They were all but left for dead by even many in their party two years ago. Now they take back the House, and make huge gains in the Senate by opposing Obama...and this means the country wants them to work with him?

BS.

This country wants them to stay the course and continue to oppose his runaway spending, not play into it. They should focus on two things: job growth and dealing with the health-care bill. They need to make an ultimatum: either agree to overhaul huge sections of it, with real oversight and repeal of the individual mandate, or they need to vote to cut any and all funding for it. That way there wont be a massive "repeal" of the law, but it wont go into effect with no funds appropriated for it.

Republicans will deal with job growth by moving even more jobs to China. The millions they moved there from 2001 to 2008 simply weren't enough.

Obama won't move toward the Republicans. He'll pout until he gets action on his marxist plans, or use agencies to effect an end around of Congress.

They won't do crap.

If they work with Democrats they will get blamed for every bad thing about the subsequent bill. Why in the world would they want that? Bush showed what happens when you work with Democrats. COnstant screwing over. Palestinians are more honest than Dems.

DemocRATS only talk about compromise when they lose. REpublicans have to do one thing: OBSTRUCT everything the DemocRATs want to do.

France's Sarkozy has already said that he thinks Obama is insane. The GOP should prove it.

Yeah...sure....be nice to him. Talk to him and watch him fall asleep listening to you. Let's see...he wouldn't work with them for two years so now he's gonna listen to them all of the sudden? I don't think this lying asswad can be trusted to do anything he agrees to so talking to him is a waste of time. This phone conversation recorded today proves he has no intention of compromising. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DV4j2URWNo&feature=player_embedded#!

And while they're at it why don't they give him the ammunition he needs to fuck you again too. Obama is asking the Pentagon for private information on anyone who's suspected of running against him in 2012. Once he gets that he'll put a team of private investigators out there asking everyone and anyone who knows any personal dirt on them. Personally I don't think taxpayer cash should be used by any public official to investigate his competition. Going on witch-hunts should come directly out of Obama's pocket...not ours.

Perfect example is the prescription drug benefit. The dems insisted on it then beat the GOP over the head with it calling it an unfunded entitlement. So the dems got the entitlement AND a campaign issue, showing the wasteful GOP growing the Debt.

Republicans don't move them there. Private businesses and CEO's move them there. The taxes are far lower, and they aren't union labor.

Lower taxes, eliminate crippling union contracts, and jobs stay here. It's that simple.

France's Sarkozy has already said that he thinks Obama is insane. The GOP should prove it.

And the Reps accidentally landed in a perfect political place.

Dems have Senate and Presidency. So if things go bad, we can still blame them.

But if it goes right, we can automatically take credit b/c we are in the House.

We can propose bills in the House that sound wonderful, rhetorically awesome, symbolically awesome, and maybe not truly effective, BUT the Senate and President will never let them pass b/c they don't want us to get credit. Then, we can take that symbolically awesome sounding bill and say "The Dem's blocked it", and we'll sweep more into power in 2012.

I'd rather have taken the Senate also.....but we accidentally set ourselves up for a huge 2012 by not getting it.

Your oh so right.

The onus will be on the Prez and the Senate. All the Reps need do is formulate the bills and see what happens.

It will be fairly easy to see if OL'BO truly wants to work with em or just obstruct anything they try to do.

Will also be interesting to see how many Dems up for reelection in 2012 will decide that their cushy job is more important the Barry Boys agenda.

Should be interesting till 2012 rolls around.

The Republicans are not going to work with anyone. Their main goal is going to be to do nothing. They have already said as much.

They should focus on two things: job growth

And what exactly is their plan for job growth?
