Reporter Tries to Buy Gun at Walmart - Fails Twice

From the article.

Mental health is an area both sides can agree on needs to be improved, not just for mass shooting prevention, but in general.

OK, let's pass Universal Health Care with good mental health coverage.

Govt fucked up healthcare in the first place.
Blows my mind how people want to empower failure.

You forgot "Commie"!!

Of course when I asked about how background checks would have stopped most mass shootings the left says they do not care of they do or do not they just want them!
This is the case with virtually ALL of the gun control laws sought by the anti-gun loons -- they don't care of they accomplish their stated goals, they just want to restrict the exercise of the right by the law abiding.

She learned background checks work.

Overall, the experience left me with the impression that buying a gun at Walmart is more complicated than I expected, and that Walmart takes gun sales and security pretty seriously.”

She can still buy a gun from some guy in the parking lot...no questions asked

That's funny. Lots of firearms transactions take place in small town Walmart parking lots.

Which is proof that we need stricter gun control laws.

Why? If I want to sell my pea shooter to Bubba, why is that any of business of yours?

And if the reporter was a felon, and lied on the gun purchase application... nothing would probably happen.

When gun buyers are caught in 'lie-and-try,' how many are prosecuted? 12

The FBI, in reviewing instant background checks for firearm purchases, detected 112,000 lie-and-try crimes in fiscal 2017 alone, and federal investigators had names and addresses on the filled-out forms. How many were prosecuted? Twelve, according to a recent Government Accountability Office report.

More evidence that we don't need new gun laws, we need to enforce the current laws.
How may fewer crimes would we have if these 112,000 people were taken off the street for committing a federal felony?

The vast majority of our arguments revolve around something already illegal but not enforced. Guns, immigration, financial, etc.

No need for rhetorical bullshit. Govt got involved in healthcare and cost skyrocketed. Everything went to hell.
And then stupid people want to give them even MORE power.
Stupid.

The very worst thing that could happen to health care is to fully insulate the consumer from the cost of the goods and services he consumes.

Because too many people allow our bureaucrats and elected politicians to violate their oaths of office, refuse to enforce our laws, while they are in office.

They are caught up in the partisan blame game, where they fear to call out someone from their political party. Chastising politicians from their own party is viewed as possibly influencing the outcome of the next election. So they bite their tongues, laws are broken and never enforced, and our nation pays the price.

I think we are seeing a bit of that with the rising cost of college tuition and books prices. The government is paying for more grants and scholarships, and everyone is getting federal student loans, and the costs for college skyrocket.

Speaking of which, college tuition is a good indicator of the utter hypocrisy of the left, since most every college and university is run by, and populated by leftists and liberal Democrat faculty and staff.

The presidents and board members running our colleges want free college for all, as long as someone esle pays for it, and they keep their bloated salaries and benefits.

Well really, what did this little bubble headed woman expect, that she was going to just waltz into a walmart and walk out with a firearm... really?

Is that really how STUPID some "reporters" are?

Yep.

Yes, they are, and they're dumber than even you suspect. Hanging out with 'Journalism majors' and their professors back in the 1980's and learning what they were being taught and what they thought was a frightening experience.

I don't know a dealer who will proceed with a sale of a person answers "yes" to any question on the form. It's been awhile since I filled one out so I think there is one "yes" question on the form now though. I could be wrong.

That's what happens when you have a Federal Reserve creating wealth out of nothing.
