Neither company paid off on those lawsuits, but FOX could not get away with it this time, without all the talking head, and Murdoch himself having to testify in open court, and FOX Legal team figured they would lose anyway, to better to pony up $787.5 Million Dollars in damages to their victim, rather than parade the core of Fake News through the court and probably still get stuck somewhere between that figure or possibly $1.6 Billion Dollars or more, depending on the judge and the jury that FOX legal team helped pick.
