Listening to people rambling on and on about the decision I'm struck by two things. One, the time for televised discussion panels and debate was BEFORE the ruling. Too late now. And two, religious opposition to the ruling only applies if people are of that religion.

No one on tv brought up the point that your Christian arguement assumes everybody must be Christian and therefore Biblical arguements are in someway valid. Not everyone's Christian. And of those who are, not every denomination is against homosexuality.

Coulda shut down dissent with that one itty bitty fact. But everyone's yammering on like the whole world is Christian (shudder.)

Some black woman on CNN's panel made an interesting observation. Said like "I'm a Christian but don't care about gay marriage" in responding to a guy in the audiance speaking on behalf of the Young Republicans. Then she says (the interesting part, paraphrasing,) "I'd sure hate it if the tiny minority of Christians opposed to gay marriage came to define the whole of Christianity."

Sound familar? Isn'tt hat sorta what we're doing to Islam? We're treating the whole of Islam as one group because of the actions of the 'tiny minority.' :)

100% of people who truly follow God’s revealed word in the Bible will oppose same-sex marriage. They love people enough to tell them the truth: immoral lifestyles cause problems in this world and put people in risk of eternal separation from God.

100% of people who truly follow Muhammad’s teachings as recorded in the Koran will force people to convert to Islam or be murdered. The ‘tiny minority’ of Muslims that will kill people if they don’t convert to Islam numbers in the millions. The carnage they cause is evident daily.

There is no way to know if a kinder, gentler Muslim is telling the truth about whether or not he would follow all of Muhammad’s teachings given the opportunity. Or to determine if a Muslim will someday come to a deeper understanding of Islam and begin to kill the infidels.

Regardless of how diligently Muslims follow Islam, 100% of them need to be treated the same way: as people in desperate need of a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
