Registering Poor Voters Is ‘Un-American’

Guess what, moron dittoheads? ANY cases against ACORN beside the TOTAL BS Breitbart thing were minimum wage people making up ridiculous names to get paid- and they got caught and were fined a little if anything.

The RW BS propaganda machine made you dupes look like total fools (over 50% of Republicans think ACORN stole the election, total balderdash for the RACIST sheep), scared everyone into destroying the ACORN org. A DISGRACE. Pubs- most disgraceful political party in the modern world.

Yea right, they only act like used car salesman...

I'm from the Chi and these activists are all over the place come election time....

Some districts go as far as to offer free materialistic merchandise to attract potential communists...

As a matter of fact I remember being offered a free pack of beef jerky and a T-shirt to "register to vote democrat.."

It's almost like a cult - it is a cult...

SERIOUS QUESTION: Does anyone on this board believe that POOR American citizens of legal voting age should NOT be allowed to vote?

Of course they should be allowed to vote and Vadum is an idiot, but I am still a conservative.

Please provide a link that shows either...
A: over 50% of Republicans think ACORN stole the election

or
B: over 50% of Republicans are racist

I await the thunderous sounds of crickets.

A---Lets just say that making false ballots and rigging the machines is stealing elections. We have to watch people as cheating is done in every election...No reason not to think that some didn't happen on the democrat side last election.

B---90+ percent of blacks voted based on skin color, while 50 percent of whites voted because they believed what "a black" man had to say based on his policies. Who's the fucking racist?:lol::lol::lol: Whites mostly voted McCain because Obama was so far left. I get so sick of this stupid argument and this racist white bashing.

Thank you for an honest, straight answer. I agree - except for the conservative part.

This is all part of the radical right agenda to disenfranchise poor voters who mostly vote Democrat.

So paying people to vote for democrats is ok???

You know, that poor woman has gotten almost as much ridicule as Miss Teen South Carolina - 2007 and deserved every bit of it.

Who the fuck do you think ACORN targets?

I've seen ACORN in the city but never in the suburbs.....

They're like a zombie cult....

I guess it's in Fox' interest to keep doubt alive.

Did FOX lie about anything in that story? If so, please provide a link to a credible source proving it. If not, STFU and go finish masturbating to Glee reruns.

Fox didn't really lie about anything in that story-- it's an Associated Press story based on original reporting in the Las Vegas Review-Journal, published on Fox News' website. Still, it does contain inaccuracies. It's not necessary to find an additional news story that contradicts it. It contradicts itself:

-- In the headline and lead, the story claims that "ACORN" plead guilty to a voting fraud charge. However, later the story says that Amy Busefink, an ACORN employee, was the one who entered the plea.

-- Further, again based on the later part of the article, the plea Busefink entered was "no contest", not "guilty". While the two pleas have largely the same legal consequences the former does not actually concede guilt (though admittedly, when one pleads no contest one is usually guilty).

I don't think the AP has a vendetta against ACORN. I do think they sensationalized a story that might more accurately have been headlined: "Someone no one has heard of plead guilty to minor felony".

SERIOUS QUESTION: Does anyone on this board believe that POOR American citizens of legal voting age should NOT be allowed to vote?

No one said that. What the author said is that going out and REGISTERING poor people to vote is unAmerican.

It is class warfare. Democrats want to use the non-productive class as a weapon against the productive class in order to gain power. That is unAmerican.

Ouch! That wasn't very nice. :D Why on earth would you call me a liberal or worse yet a progressive? If I didn't hate giving neg reps... hehe j/k. I think you meant that you are not a conservative. At least that is what I hope you meant.

YES, I meant I'm not a conservative. What you are is your business.

Getting to the original thread topic,

The article was pretty extreme. I think most conservatives would reject the author's argument, even as they agreed with him that the actual redistribution of wealth was unamerican. While some actual elected Republicans are trying to restrict voting rights they are doing it for transparent partisan advantage, not because their avowed philosophy calls for disenfranchising left-leaning voting blocs.

In the next thread you will support social welfare - the same welfare that supports that shit.

Conservative columnist Matthew Vadum is just going to come right out and say it: registering the poor to vote is un-American and "like handing out burglary tools to criminals."

"It is profoundly antisocial and un-American to empower the nonproductive segments of the population to destroy the country -- which is precisely why Barack Obama zealously supports registering welfare recipients to vote," Vadum, the author of a book published by World Net Daily that attacks the now-defunct community organizing group ACORN, writes in a column for the American Thinker.

According to author Durham W. Ellis, this is what historian Alexander Tyler said about the fall of the Athenian Republic: “A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves money from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most money from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy ….”

The economy and Treasury seemed to be doing quite well until Republican George W. Bush came along.

Aw, what did you do that for? Now we're going to have truthnevermatters quoting this for the next few days, babbling about how the US is a democracy, and not a republic.

Because I believe that you believe that public welfare is a civil right..............

Besides Nancy Pelosi and Barney Frank have already proved the progressive socialist authoritarian nanny state bullshit...

Who the fuck do you think you're fooling?

I love how progressives attempt to portray themselves as conservatives when it's convenient but will then turn around and spew shit even Lenin wouldn't say...

Bravo...

I've only been reading progressives posts for 15 years - I know your game....
