CDZ Real Questions for Trump Supporters

1) HHmmm...never thought of America as great - it is hard to quantify. For every NASA or Edison moment, you've had the KKK and gerrymandering moments
Greatness is in the eyes of the beholder. Those tainted against a point being discussed are biased towards their own nation and yadda yadda yadd. A moment of Greatness in our history is when we kicked England and it's King's and Queens out of here. Someone from England would disagree with that point

3) When Ronald Raygun started to deregulate the banks
Removal of the Glass Steagal act was a point when we forgot the lessons learned of the Great Depression and on that note it was a mistake for Reagan to go down that path. Finished off by the Graham Leahy Act and signed by Clinton finished it off and allowed Too Big to fail to Self Regulate to our economic demise.

4) You lack self-reflection and can't stand criticism. You think because you have brought a lot of great things to the world (and you certainly have - too numerous to put here), that you are above being critiqued. It seems to especially peeve those on the right spectrum of politics ('we saved you arse in WWII yadda, yadda, yadda
We did save your asses in WWI and WWII. We also stood the line against the USSR for Europe to prevent Stalin from taking it. We were in the way. We take the hits when they are deserved, but challenge you when all we hear are those bitching about what we do especially in War when they help get us into them. UN being a prime example where they get us involved and then we pull all the weight. It's way past time Europe pulls it's weight in that aspect. Not to mention paying it's fair share to fund the UN. Get off the cheap seats if you want us to care when you complain.

5) The greatness of a society can be measured by how it treats its most weak and vulnerable citizens
There is a hint of Socialism drama within that remark.............Which under the Original Constitution wasn't allowed via the enumerated powers. Once you decide to hand over citizens taxed money for everything you allow corruption and greed into politics until you get the best politicians money can buy which is where we are now.

All interesting points. FYI I'm not English or European...

Trump and his supporters are multiculturalists. They say they don't care how people come here, provided they do so "legally." So, somehow we're going to make America great again, but we're also going to invite foreigners to become citizens - and with dual loyalties to boot to become part of our body politic.
Wrong. Nationalist would be the correct answer and those who support the Constitution and it's laws. When people enter this country they are violating our laws................When businesses hire them they are violating our laws. A Republic is a NATION OF LAWS..............and they are either to be followed or the Republic dies.

Mass illegals coming here costs us a lot of money because Woodrow Wilson set us on a path of the Gov't spending money on anything it pleases. So the Social Safety net is attractive to illegals, and they use it causing us massive financial problems. If they didn't use fake i'd.s and abuse the system it wouldn't be as much of a problem........but it is bankrupting States and our country.

Finally there are legal ways to work here under the Dept of labor. Especially in Agriculture. but under that program the businesses hiring are REQUIRED to give basic rights to the farm workers which cost them more money. So they ignore it to increase their profit by VIOLATING OUR LAWS.

We are either a Nation of Laws or the Republic DIES.

While this is NOT about immigration, YOU are the one who is wrong here. Allow me to school you in the Rule of Law.

The United States Constitution gives Congress ONE AND ONLY ONE area of jurisdiction over foreigners. Let me quote it for you:

"Congress shall have the power ...To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization" (Article I Section 8)

Within, maybe six months of the ratification of the Constitution of the United States, Congress fulfilled this duty. So, where did we get all these laws you allude to?

In 1875 the United States Supreme Court granted "plenary powers" to Congress over every facet of foreigners. Here is your problem: There is not one, single, solitary sentence in the entire Constitution that gives the United States Supreme Court the authority to bestow upon any other branch of government ANY powers, plenary or otherwise.BTW, this is the same basic argument conservatives use for challenging the illegally created Federal Reserve wherein Congress transferred their powers over to private banks. There is NO AUTHORITY for either.

From a legal standpoint, the states had control over over guest workers, temporary workers, and non-citizen guests within their state prior to the high Court's meddling.

AND, if you accept the 14th Amendment (which was illegally ratified) all persons are guaranteed Liberty. That would bring into question the anti-white immigration laws that you are referring to. An anti white quota system that does not meet the needs of employers (denying them the equal protection of the laws) coupled with a system that separates families is a major case before the United States Supreme Court waiting to happen.

So far, nobody has made an argument that America was a great nation AFTER we began rejecting the principles upon which this Republic rests. Until we know what America looked like when it was great will we be able to quantify what is we want it to be again.
Greatness is in the eye of the beholder.

Greatness is a nation standing up against Hitler and Japan and their Bushido code. And literally helping to save the world from these Facist who were Barbarians............Greatness is preventing Stalin from expanding even more after WWII. A man who slaughtered 20 million or so of his own people..........Greatness is the standing up to the back stabbing Chineese after they forgot how we helped save them in WWII from Japan. Example........Taiwan is only still alive because we stand in the way of Chinese expansion.

Many examples of Greatness due to the people of the country unrelated to politics and the baloney of the politicians in this country.

I would say we are great because of finding DNA.......which has helped find cures that all humans on earth use today.

Again, Greatness is in the eye of the beholder.......A fat chick may be the love of your life and that you think that's GREAT, while others go.............yuck................

Greatness is a relative term.

Greatness may be a relative term, but if we don't have a general consensus of what it means in the instant case, it is nothing more than a political platitude. So, we're electing politicians for nothing more than window dressing???

The short answer would be because a lot of Trump supporters deny it has anything to do with race AND the proposed solutions they proffer along with their insistence on enforcing anti-white laws indicate that they bought into the Kool Aid they were selling the masses.
Garbage response........You decide your own fate. Race is an excuse and a catch all line for the Dems.

Get off your butt and make something of yourself........regardless of color......and stop blaming others for your own mistakes.

That is a conservative Trump supporter response. We are a nation of whiners now...........instead of working hard to get ahead too many complain on why they aren't great while eating potato chips on the sofa when they should get off their butts and go to work.

Back to Woodrow...........who started this path that they get federal money for sitting on their butts by abusing the system that the Constitution didn't allow.

The Constitution has been perverted..........it is the answer to the correct path for this country forward.

I have written thousands of lines on this board about how the parents, government, schools, doctors, and Big Pharma have created this generation of welfarites and worthless people by drugging them for no justifiable reason. Our culture creates drug addicts and a lot of parents use pills and police as parenting tools. That's on us.

That is the class of people who are bringing America down.

Would you agree or disagree that in order to make America great again, our culture must strive for greatness in their own personal lives?

When any given American is productive, content with their life, have a sense of community and contribute something positive to society, they think America is great.

If they are malcontents forever angry that they are some sort of victim, have a low sense of self esteem and are so disgruntled in general that they feel no connection to the society around them, they think it is America's fault and not their own.

Nobody does more whining than your blob.

If we want to get back to a time when America was great, we have to define when that was.

You might be overthinking this.

Part of being great is knowing when it's good enough.

We destroyed 97% of ISIS...the rest of the world can deal with the last 3%.

If we stop all but 10 illegals per year from entering thru the southern border...that's good enough.

There comes a point of diminishing returns.

I've responded to this issue about so - called "illegals" as you call them in a previous post (post # 63.) The only thing I can add is that those who obsess over people from south of the border refuse to do an honest Cost / Benefits Analysis of why they're here.

Things are rarely what they seem. While there are those obsessing over unconstitutional laws, the liberals are playing you and stealing your Rights right out from under your nose.

Isis will make a comeback.

If unemployment is now at statistical zero (3.5 percent), we should be great enough to realize that it did not take a border wall to make America great. Then again, there is more to the story. Isn't there?

Remember how we used to chide Obama over his over-inflated opinion of how good he was doing?

1) When do you think America became great?

2) What made America great?

3) When did America begin to lose its greatness?

4) What are the reason (s) you think we are not a great nation today?

You make a very great point and succinctly made. That is why I do not understand the MAGA concept.

There is no general consensus on this thread as to when America was really great. Most have different ideas as to what constitutes the greatness they think Donald Trump can bring us to. At the same time, there are a lot of people who are mad about something.

A couple of posters, much like the left, backs unconstitutional laws as a means to an end. Just my opinion, but that is the antithesis of achieving greatness. So, the discussion goes on.

Wrong. The laws are created by the Congress and signed by the President. These laws are the LAW on the border and on immigration. Such as the Law passed under Reagan changing how people are hired in this country, which was supposed to end illegal immigration.

How did it fail..................It failed because a network of Fake I.D. businesses popped up all over the country. Created fake names and fake SSN's so they would meet the requirement to be hired, so a business could say later he had I.D. Our own Social Security Department has openly admitted that they know of MILLIONS of people filing taxes that are FAKE. They say they don't care because these Fake people with Fake IDs are paying taxes on income.

You don't go to another country for a vacation without a Passport, and you play the game that somehow these illegals coming here aren't Violating our laws here.

The Executive Branch swore oaths to enforce our laws........Laws that were passed by Congress. And illegals violate the moment they step on our soil without our permission.

Given only 2 choices you hold your nose and vote for the one that will do less damage.

Another point of PERVERSION of the Constitution.......Is Senators being elected by popular vote. Which was not the intent of the Constitution. They were to be chosen by the state legislatures. They wouldn't be able to get corrupt as much as they are now if the State Gov'ts could replace them if they went against the will of the State Gov't.

To the popular vote. Congressmen were for that purpose. Changing the way the Senators are elected perverted the Constitution.

People are accountable for their actions. If they choose this path then we are under no obligation to bail them out for their choices.

The breakdown of the family is the problem. Having 2 parents work just to get by. Not having the parent home to help educate the kids. Now they are taught morality in school, which is not the purpose of our schools. The schools should teach the basics and nothing more. It is up to the families, to decide morality issues to their own children.

Schools should also be teaching the Constitution to the students. But the Constitution has been shredded by design. For power hungry people who want Gov't to have more power and not less.

Would you not agree that MANY things perverted the Constitution and we cannot lay our hands on a single issue?

How come you understand that changing the Republican form of government to have a direct election of U.S. Senators is responsible for part of our demise, yet you hold onto other views you cannot substantiate out of the Constitution?

As I previously stated, BOTH sides are willing to tolerate unconstitutional laws as a means to an end. What I'd like to see from some MAGA supporter is a civil discussion on how you can use unconstitutional laws to bring America to greatness. Let's forget for a moment what the liberals have done. We can examine that in another thread. HOW do the MAGA supporters reconcile subverting the Constitution in order to achieve greatness?

Actually, I'm not sure who you aimed that at. I've asked more questions than tried to take a political stand. I agree with what you're saying. The actions of the left and the right are equally wrong, ending up with them actually being like one hand washing the other - unfortunately they end up washing their hands in the blood of the posterity of America.

If an unconstitutional act will get either side what they want, the Constitution be damned. For example, one poster wants to derail the thread and make this about immigration. The problem is, Congress can pass all the law it wants, but if is in violation of the Constitution, then it does not have to be obeyed - whether we deem it to be "legal" or not. Some laws cannot be ignored because the truth is self evident and all of us are entitled to Liberty.

People will hire, rent to, buy from, sell to, and otherwise do business with foreigners because they inherently realize that Liberty is an unalienable Right. A lot of people refused to turn in their bump stocks, realizing that Trump violated the Constitution and the government cannot infringe on an unalienable Right. Millions of people realized that, after Roe v. Wade, the United States Supreme Court ruled that women had a right over their own bodies so that must extend to all of us and if they wanted to smoke weed.... and the drug laws are collapsing.
