I have some books to suggest, this is just for fun reading.

The Life of Pi, Yann Martel.....A fantastic story of a man and a tiger on a life raft. Truth or fiction.....the reader must decide.

Waiting For The Galactic Bus, Parke Godwin....A story of two brothers stranded on early earth while on spring break. They mess around with evolution and religion.

The Age of Unreason, J. Gregory Keyes.....Actually 4 books
Newton's Cannon, A Calculus of Angels, Empire of Unreason, The Shadows of God. This story rewrites history, great portrayals of Ben Franklin, Newton, and other historical figures in an age of flying machines and magic.
I'd say these books are only for those willing to go on a fantasy adventure.

For fun reading I'd suggest the Barenstein Bears series. Me and My Dad is a great one, too. And it has a VHS version, so you can watch it and compare and contrast the differances. And finally the Arthur series by Marc Brown, and PBS offers a series on television, so you can read one book one day and flip on the tube and see if your episode is on!
