Jimmy Buffett died 9/1/2023. Few musicians/songwriters have effected my life like Buffett did. I saw him 4 times. I was hoping for a 5th.

Jimmy Buffett was an amazing man. Lived his life his own way. And left us with a catalog of great songs.

Then you have the restaurants, the resorts, the cruise ship (which I hear could be much better than it is), the campgrounds, the casinos, and even the retirement villages... that one, mediocre song built quite a little empire...

The books too. He wrote several books.

Just a note about the cruise ship. The cruise ship is not well regarded...that is true. It gets into the weeds a bit but here it goes. I'm an experienced cruiser and I think anyone who spends 15 minutes trying to book a cruise will testify that there is no way in hell it should be as complicated as they make it. An advertised cruise for $200 cruise will cost you $1,000 by the time they get through putting the fees in place. Connecting it back to JB...it was hoped that the "regular guy" would be able to cut through all of the mess and you would just be able to book a cruise for pretty close to what it was advertised. In that regard he failed I guess one could say with some accuracy. However, had anyone else done the same thing, I don't think the blowback (what there was of it) would be there. I mean if Marc Cuban or Jeff Bezos had done the same thing I don't think anyone would expect complete clarity and transparency.
