Publicly funded elections

The barrier to entry is enormous in politics and something needs to be done to change that. Your success as a politician should not depend on how much money you have access to; it should depend on your message and how intelligently you can communicate it. We need to level the playing field so we have a better variety of good candidates.

I agree with this, it should always be the message and your communication, it shouldn't be about the money. It's a disturbing thing when the highest political offices can essentially just be bought.

And how does that politician "fight for their needs"? By giving them a big tax deduction?

By advocating for things that benefit the wealthy rather than working people.
All the working class has to do is quit working. Simple halt the trucks and cars, don't buy their shit an stay home for a week or two. Look what happened when one little union got tired of being bullied.

Many of those people would do this, but many of them can't afford to, to them being at home for week or two, they cannot afford this.

Then stay indebted and enslaved to the elites.
