Protesters at ICE facility nearly get run over

Yeah, and it infringes on my rights when I walk into Walmart and get shot dead because you folks won't give up rifles designed for the military. So fuckin' live with it, I guess.

Double standard or what? I have to stay on topic, but you not so much... Hmmm...
You realize I agree with you on that, right? But it was so nice to actually discuss a topic for once instead of endless "Democrats are racists" "No Republicans are racists" blah blah blah No need to get all sensitive about it.

Not so easy to stop someone from walking into a Wal Mart with a weapon (maybe people will start to be stationed outside the stores from now on).
Very very easy to stop protestors from blocking public roads and access ways. So live with that.
Yes, I suppose it is, Eric. Are you threatening them?

Yes, I suppose it is, Eric. Are you threatening them?
Laughing out loud now. How could I possibly threaten them?

The police need to be sent down with lots of wagons and people need to be arrested one by one. Is that a threat?
Or a proper use of police when some people engage in civil disobedience?

Truck tries to drive into group of Jewish protesters outside ICE detention center

So these morons think they can block public streets and the entry to a government facility.

Why weren’t the cops there to remove these idiots?

Hopefully they will be arrested and learn that “peaceful protesting” does not include blocking cars.

It's okay for Hong Kong folks to block traffic, just not people protesting ICE/immigration, right?

I don't know why people protest ICE. They do their jobs, put up with a lot of shit, don't try to hurt anybody. They are DOING THEIR JOB. But people have a right to PEACEFULLY protest -- which this group was doing. Says so right there. Yet they're morons, according to you.

AND NO IT IS NOT OKAY TO RUN THEM OVER.

It's funny how these folks that adamantly support the second amendment don't give a shit about the first, isn't it?

Hypocrites.

You have the right to protest, but you don't have the right to block a road so nobody can get through. Then you start infringing on my my rights.

If we gave our troops what we can buy. They would not win any battle.

So we could do the same with an abortion clinic, or planned parenthood?

Already asked and answered.

I didn't see anything.

Is that what you think should happen to all the protesters in Hong Kong?

#23 Do you need toileting assistance as well or do you think you can manage from here?

Is that what you think should happen to all the protesters in Hong Kong?
What do you think? Am I likely to think the Communist Chinese military takeover of Hong Kong is a good thing?

Think real hard about that one. See what you come up with.

If you are trying to claim I think it's okay for Hong Kong protestors to shut down streets and their airport but
have a double standard when it comes to a small band of leftist Jews blocking a Rhode Island ICE facility
........:clap2:

So you admit it is not about the protest per se, whether it is acceptable. It is about whether you consider the CAUSE worthy.
Thank you for being honest about that.
That was the only point I was trying to make.

You vaguely answered, that was a yes or no question. If liberals want to close a road down to an ice office. Do you think I have the right to close a road to planned parenthood? Yes or no.

My answer stands.

It IS about the protest! Rhode Island is not being invaded by the Communist Chinese army.
There is no need to barricade streets there. ICE can be protested without commandeering local streets and areas.

I won't insult you again because it does no good but really....Jesus Christ!!! What does it take to reach some people?

OldLady, if you consider it a peaceful protest when they're blocking access to the facility, then would it not also be a peaceful protest for pro-life protesters to block entry to a Planned Parenthood facility?

I support the right to peaceful assembly, which means no breaking any laws.
The pro-democracy protesters in Hong Kong just shut down the airport for two days. All flights in and out for two days. Tourists, businessmen, you name it.
I did not read one single thread--not even a single post--complaining about those protesters. Yet oh my. Delay a few ICE workers getting into their parking lot and IT IS WORTHY OF A THREAD!
It all depends on what they're protesting, and don't try to pretend it isn't.

Well yes. There is an inherent moral difference between the two.

When you are protesting against evil.... then I can understand being willing to make a sacrifice. And by the way, protesting does require a sacrifice. There is a price to be paid fighting evil.

So with the protest in Hong Kong, I don't see any reason to comment on it. One: They are fighting against a very tyrannical socialist-left-wing government. Two: They are fighting against something that is evil, on the side of good.

Now compared to the ICE protest....

They are fighting against the rule of law. They are fighting in favor of anarchy. We are either a civilized nation of laws, or a degenerate culture fighting for anarchy.

Yeah, I don't support that. And it should be talked about, so that we can warn people that there is a group in this country, actively attempting to destroy this country.

I never thought there would be a day where some people can't even draw a distinction between opposing the authoritarian Communist regime of China and immigration enforcement officers of the federal government.
By God, we've sunk so very low. It's a true Idiocracy for many people.

No, you're absolutely right that Rhode Island is not being invaded by the Communist Chinese army. However, the act of protest, of causing a certain amount of commotion in order to gain the world's attention, is a common occurrence in protests. I honestly don't think you can applaud the Hong Kong protesters, even though they shut down an airport for two days, and then slam the Rhode Island protesters for blocking the ICE parking lot for a few hours. Those Rhode Island protesters are also standing up for what they believe in, what they believe is worth fighting for. Not saying it was convenient. Not saying it should have gone on for two days. It is what protest does. The Rhode Island protests were peaceful until an ICE employee drove his truck into them. That was not so peaceful. Glad no one was hurt.

I can't get that worked up over the ICE protests because ICE is doing its job. Illegals need to go home or Congress needs to change the laws. I don't like the way it's being handled, but the long and short of it is, illegals need to go home and ICE is not the problem.

They know the difference but it does not match their feelings, their “truths”

Yes, ICE is doing it's job. Hong Kong is something those folks will have to work out and good luck to them but, I believe we have enough to deal with right here in the US.

At least we agree here. Hong Kong is fighting for it's life but will ultimately be absorbed by the globe's one truly evil and frightening nation, China.
So whatever protestors do there is justified in my mind.

The ICE protests in Rhode Island? Not so much at all. They can protest without shutting down roads into and out of the facility. Bottom line. And ICE is providing a vital function in this country.
Lose control of your borders and you lose control of your country.
