Progressives are destroying the fabric of our nation.

No, it's just that progressives are tired of how it's become a paradise for Wall Street and the lobbyists who outnumber Congress by about 500 to 1. Your vote doesn't count anymore and it's not because of Communism, pal. Just the opposite.

We need to expand the size of Congress. That would help alleviate the lobbyist problem and also make your vote count more.

What's wrong with Congress? It's not big enough - CNN.com

The nation has lived through worse division. Remember, some countries find our party system laughable as they are so much alike.
George Wallace said it right when he was running for President. There's not a dime's worth of difference between the Democrats and the Republicans. It is the difference between the extremely liberal and the extremely conservative that makes the parties seem different. There are conservatives (maybe centrist) among the Democrats and there liberals among the Republicans. I would have voted for Joe Lieberman had he been nominated...even though I have not voted for a Democrat since Kennedy. The past midterm election was the first time I have voted for all Republicans running.

I was raised to hate communism. I was raised to be charitable on my own, not to be forced into it by the government. I was raised to expect reward for my efforts and to be able to purchase whatever goods and services I chose as long as I had earned the money to pay for it. I was raised to respect the American flag and to be thankful for the sacrifice of all those that have fought and died to keep this country free over the years since we gained independence from a tyrant that stole from our earnings.

The Democrats appear to me as tyrants...favoring a system of serfdom in which millions of workers support the financial needs of the government and of the thousands of members of the ruling elite...the royalty.

Yes. Democrats seem to be tearing at the fabric of what has been for over 200 years the greatest nation on earth.

But let us not blame just the Democrats. Congress is replete with professionally corrupt politicians and a self-sustaining system of replenishment of same. A giant step in the right direction would be to set term limits for all government positions. Replacing all incumbents and restricting professional lobbying would improve matters too. Line item veto would help. Barring unassociated amendments from being attached to bills in Congress would help. There are lots of things that can be done to rescue this two-party system without biasing the outcome.

Liberalism is a mental disorder.

I 100% agree Gramps...

So do you plan on voting for one in the GE?

I honestly haven't decided what I'm going to do yet. And that is the truth. A lot of my decision will be selfish motivation sadly. My business truly struggled for several years and is now beginning to flourish again. Trying to decipher why will lead me to my vote.

Fair enough, I just hope you're not one of the mindless "anyone but Obama" fools that think they sound clever for saying ABO.

How does the line item veto take us in a direction that is more free?
I don't recall saying it would make us more free. What it would do is enable the President to strike out unrelated bullshit that tends to be attached to bills that should be passed. We let amendments cause congressmen to vote against something they recognize as a good bill just to keep the frivolous amendment from being passed along with it. It appears to me to be utter stupidity, causes much wasted time and wasted money in payments of salaries, staff and production costs for mountains of paperwork associated with each bill.

Congress would still have the power to override the vetoes, but I'm betting the frequency of occurrence would drop...making the passage of sensible bills more likely.

Whatever. The problem starts and ends with the assholes in Congress who game the system. End their ability to do that......rather than give the POTUS more power.

Then prohibit the attachment of unrelated amendments. Only problem is, Congress is NOT going to do this on it's own. Congress writes all the rules. Congress has (and uses) the power to exempt its members from laws the We The People have to follow. That will be hard to take away.

You seem so stable and interested in making things better. Then I remember that you said this:

Stupid Teabaggers.

Which is true but the question still remains as to who will win the tug of war.....

The tug only adds to the nation as a whole.

I disagree. With the maturity of the internet the tug of war will be the undoing of our great nation. Now hate, bigotry and division can be freely and widely shared without any level of accountability.
.....Not to mention the minefield Ol' Mitt.....

True. The RW HAS lost its mind to Rush, Savage and Faux Noise. Hateful Pubcrappe. And thanks for the Depression and the STUPIDEST, longest wars ever. 9/11 was total Boooosh incompetence too. Total disaster, and Newt and Rush have also destroyed civil political discourse with lying talking points ad nauseum.....

Fixing the most ridiculously expensive, cruel, and ruinous health "system" with a REPUBLICAN private system is NOT COMMUNISM, dupe. Change the channel. LOL!

Of course, it is undeniable that progressives are destroying the fabric of the nation. They believe that it must be destroyed in order to transform it into their vision of the perfect worker's paradise.

C'mon....be nice. ONE o' these days Katzndogz will be old-enough to vote.....but, I'm thinkin' puberty is a whole-lot-closer, for Katzndogz, presently.

Of course my vote counts. Every time one of the asiine socialist programs get voted down, my vote counts. When a liberal politician gets defeated my vote counts.
You surely do have an overactive-imagination, Skippy.
