Well, his bankruptcies are actually pretty good deals for him because when they made the deals everyone involved knew Trump would never pay the loans, but the lenders were happy to launder their money and get to own the casino with Trump's name. And the Russians are lending money to everyone building hotels and casinos in Europe, so it's not like Trump is doing anything anyone else isn't.

But Gen Mattis is proven right that even if the original Iran Nuclear Deal was not a good deal, a deal is a deal. When you reneg on a deal that the other parties thought you would stick to …. then you do lose credibility. Now Trump not only wants Iran to keep up its end on the nukes, but it wants Iran to be a good neighbor too. Trump, Mattis, and everyone is correct in saying the Iran deal didn't do enough. But, the US needed the other countries agreeing to sanctions to get a deal, and they weren't willing to do go that far because they wanted the oil. So now Trump's forced them to do without the oil they bargained for in good faith. The EU is going to tell Trump to FO if he asks for help now in getting Iran to be a good neighbor. Or at least they're going to make him give them something he wouldn't have had to give if he'd kept to the nuke deal.
