Poll: Don’t Extend Bush Cuts for Wealthy

For the Obamabots in the thread, how many years of Obama using Bush's tax policy will it take for you to put any marginal shred of blame on Obama?

To be fair to the Obamabots, extending the Bush tax cuts was not Obama's choice. That is all on the GOP.
False.
The Obama forced the Dems in Congress to pass the extension.
He CHOSE to do this.
It's all on Him.

I'm about at the point of saying, yeah, go ahead and raise taxes, Barry. And then just sit back and see how he and other Dimocrats react to overall falling tax revenue and zero impact on the deficit. After which I wonder what they'd propose as Plan B instead?

False, the GOP used their typical thuggery to hold the nation hostage to force through the Bush tax cuts for the rich extension. Over 70% of the american people agreed with the democrat's plan to end them for the rich, but the GOP doesn't give a damn about the american people, all they care about it taking care of their corporate masters.

He's helpless in the matter? So he shouldn't campaign on changing the tax policy then correct?

This is a lie.
The Obama CHOSE to push the cuts thru Congress and he CHOSE to sign them.
Nothing FORCED Him to do that becaise nothing CAN force Him to do so.

You mean like He did in 2008?

Note that The Obamabots give Him a pass for cutting taxes for the rich, even though He promised he'd raise them.

the simple fact is the "reconciliation" tax legislation 2003 was passes without a single vote other than Republicans who were themselves the primary beneficiaries. Without any restraints to prevent future spending, their 2003 act was the primary cause of the soaring National Debt associated with the 07-09 Great Recession.

the Republican's believed the debt caused by their initiative would be solved by forcing spending cuts, Austerity that the Democrats would have no choice but to implement. But rather than the Republican objective the dominate Democrats use Keynesian Stimulus to curtail the Great Recession and were successful in June of 09.

now with a mending economy it is the Democrats that are calling on the Republicans that caused the National Debt to soar to pay back for what they caused.

the Republican plan was reversed by the Obama Administration and Democratic Congress and the 2012 elections will determine the final outcome.

Excellent! Let's see some deep spending cuts for the next 5 years.
Better yet, 10 years.

He signed it into law, even before the Republicans took over the House.
How is that "all on the GOP"?

Thank God we are not a mob rule democracy.... perfect example of the masses trying to take away the rights, property, or freedom of the minority

And there was no thuggery used....

Nice to know we have a new winger troll on board

Obviously his words mean more to them than his actions.

Even if his actions are the exact opposite of his words, as long as he tells them what they wanna hear they're good.

An income of 250K a year does not make one wealthy.

If you believe that, then you don't have a fucking clue how to manage money.

To be in the top 5% of U.S. earners in 2009, you needed to earn $154,643 per year.

The top 1% earned over $343,927 a year.

So where does $250,000 fall? Top 2.5%?

So if a married father of 3 living in New York, New York makes $250,000 you would consider him wealthy?

I'd say roughly 30 seconds of research would be adequate in making you change your mind.

The average american makes around 45K a year. If you are making 250K, you are in the top 2% and doing very well.

Sorta true for the most part but why is pinning a financial hit, target on their back ok?

Answer yes or no please

If your answer is yes, be prepared for me to provide a basic run down of what a married father of 3 making $250,000 in New York pays in order to live a standard middle class way of life. Just fair warning.

The Bush tax cuts for the rich was to be a temporary stimulus to spur the economy, but just like every other "trickle down' GOP fiscal policy it was a complete disaster that sent the economy into the toilet.
Having the failed stimulus resorted to the very successful Clinton plan will get the deficit strongly back on track.
If the GOP thugs try to hold the nation hostage again, I'd hope Obama just lets them all expire as we can't as a nation afford to extent them again for the richest of the rich.

If they're SO terrible, why did The Obama force the Dems to extend them?

If you are in such support of this bill, why are you not applauding Obama for signing it?

When you were given a test with a list of questions in school did you write down a question in the spot the teacher gave you to write an answer?
