Politicians exempt themselves from laws because they know they're unfair

Typical Dems. Hillary is against the second amendment and, like many libs, would probably outright ban guns for the public if they could have their way. The second amendment is under attack and Hillary recently began an answer to a question on it by saying "IF it is a constitutional right...."

California Dem politicians exempted themselves from their own gun-control laws. They also made laws that allow them to avoid having to pay taxes on a large chunk of their income. Higher taxes are only good for other people. They tried to exempt themselves from having to pay speeding tickets if caught by the speed cameras and they didn't think they should have to pay for toll roads. Those are for the little people.

Of course, congress is exempt from Obamacare and many other laws. They can engage in insider trading. They love making tons of laws to control the public but they hate the thought of having to obey those laws themselves. As they say, when a cook refuses to eat their own food, you know it's poison.

What this tells us is that they think the laws they make are unfair. Why else would they constantly ensure that they don't have to abide by them?

"The California state Senate voted 28-8 Wednesday to exempt itself from the pointless gun-control laws that apply to the rest of the populace. Legislators apparently think they alone are worthy to pack heat on the streets for personal protection, and the masses ought to wait until the police arrive.

This is just one of many bills Golden State politicians used this legislative session to set themselves apart from the little people, the ones who pay their inflated salaries. Annual compensation for legislators averages about $140,000, not counting luxurious perks such as taxpayer-funded cars and free gasoline. By comparison, the average Californian earns $50,000 a year, and the unemployment rate is 11.9 percent - far above the national average. Exact salaries for state assemblymen and senators are obscured by the use of a "per diem" payment scheme that shelters a significant chunk of income from taxation.

Attempts by a handful of reformers to require politicians to provide a full annual disclosure of the benefits received from the public treasury have been rebuffed. Currently, government officials must file a statement of economic interests revealing income from any source other than a local, state or federal government agency. Gifts worth more than $50 also must be disclosed, but lawmakers rejected a bill that would have prohibited acceptance of concert and sporting event tickets, gift cards, spa treatments, golf outings and other benefits from lobbyists trying to buy votes.

Bills of this nature never meet an honest fate in which roll-call votes put members on the record as favoring or opposing each idea. Instead, reform measures are held in committee to die quietly as legislative deadlines pass. As of last week, it’s effectively impossible for a bill to become law if it hasn’t already passed in at least one of the chambers.

Such a silent death sentence was imposed on a bill that would have eliminated the practice of allowing select public employees to avoid paying red-light-camera tickets and escape any consequence for using toll roads without paying. The current system grants free rides to politicians, court workers, police officers, city council members, social workers, meter maids and their spouses. The bill failed even after a compromise amendment deleted the requirement to pay red-light-camera tickets.

The arrogance of the political class is certainly not limited to California. Federal law prohibits private companies from pestering the public with unwanted telemarketing calls from businesses, but Congress exempted "political organizations" - i.e., themselves - from its provisions. In Sacramento, an attempt failed to establish a special Do Not Call list for people who don’t want to listen to automated calls from California pols."

The OP belongs in the Conspiracy Theories forum.

Why? Because it talks about actual laws that they passed, though exempted themselves? Is it because they tried to pass even more laws to allow them privileges that the little people aren't allowed? It's not a conspiracy theory. It's actual practices of elected officials who think they are above everyone else.

Politicians are lying scum, with only a few exceptions. If all Americans would realize this, we would be a much better nation.

Facts are unpleasant for some and trigger denial.
BTW, Grandma is just warming up right now. She will go full bitch mode after all systems are a "go." Just like the space shuttle launch used to be. It goes as such: heart rate....GO! Assbleed control....GO! Walker.....GO! Blood pressure....GO! Soda bottle glasses....GO! Then the countdown starts.

Politicians are mindful of the fact most of these so-called "Laws" are not enforced!

It's selective enforcement, for sure, but still is tyrannical for them to place themselves so far above the people they are supposed to serve. They aren't rulers. They are public servants and fucking need to start acting like it.

The radicals advised long ago that one of the many tactics for taking down a country is to have so many laws on the books that virtually everyone is in violation of at least one. While most won't be enforced, when it's time to take down enemies of the state, the first ones tagged for breaking the law are the dissenters. Historically, people were just arrested in the middle of the night or disappeared. As far as most people were concerned, everything was normal and no one had any idea what the state was actually up to. Many people who openly spoke out against government either rotted in jail or ceased to exist, but no one save for maybe a few family members had a clue what was going on. And those who tried to expose it were given the same treatment. Countless new laws and regulations have been passed under the Obama administration. True that most won't be followed, mainly because they don't announce all the new laws (as if there is time to explain them all) and people will continue to do things, such as save rain water in a barrel, and have no idea that they are breaking the law. They'll be fine until they speak out against the tyrant in office.

Obama doesn't follow immigration laws and even praises cities for turning into sanctuary cities that protect the law breakers. That used to be called aiding and abetting. It remains against the law, yet cities find themselves adored by the left and some idiot RINOs for this blatant disregard of immigration laws.

So, they just decided that no one has to follow those laws and are more apt to investigate those demanding that the laws be followed. Even talking about border security is treated like hate speech these days.

Try not following the Obamacare law and don't pay the fine and see how far you get.

The reason illegal aliens aren't called on their crimes is because the left sees future Dem voters. And many would probably get away with not following the Obamacare law. Since, for some odd reason, the IRS got their hands on registration records as they prepared to oversee Obamacare, they know how people are registered to vote and it makes one wonder if a registered Republican is going to be tagged long before a registered Dem. I'd say yes considering they targeted conservative groups.

The only reason for them to make laws they know won't be followed is because they don't want to be targets and they know the laws are complete bullshit. They are for the people so government can pick and choose who they harass.

Your opening remarks are well put; perhaps tyrannical was not on their collective minds at the outset. The conflict began for them when they were taught how to play the game! And it is a game and it goes like this: I'll wash your back if you'll wash mine. Probably by a Senior Member. We don't care about your people back home; we'll take care of them later; you will vote on my legislation (so I'll look good) and we'll think about yours later; don't worry about backlash, we'll put together some BS crap legislation and tell your constituents, it's for their benefit.
And then they go on to say, " Until you know how to play the Legislative Game...you are nothing but a Gopher!
And, most importantly, please don't think this practice is just the making of one party! They all do it...Democrats and Republicans.
