Interesting how this WWI term thought the 1990's term brings back, in a way, how history repeats itself. Does"PC", mean, amongst other things, NOT telling the complete truth, all with the sole purpose of NOT OFFENDING ANYONE, for one. Steering a political agenda to someone else's advantage. This "P.C. TOOL" has many advantages, some good, a lot of bad.

I will post two links, one from Wikipedia:
Political correctness - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This professor of physics at Washington University, St. Louis, Mo. (Very good) IMHO
    What is political correctness?
With so much to say on this subject I am going to leave this thread with these two links and see what others here have to say about Political Correctness.

Should we as citizens put a stop to "P.C." or should we expand it's coverage?

    What is political correctness?

This is an example of the definition above:

Conservatives to write their own PC "Bible!"

"The Conservative Bible Project is a project to render God's word into modern English while removing liberal distortions."

:clap2:Does that mean Jesus will sell the fishes and loaves to the highest bidders instead of giving them out for free?

I means that and much more, doesn't it? This is the point, the P.C. 'agenda' encompasses much more than one first thinks. And seems to be 100% 'Political', as it states, not necessarily 'Right', 'Just' or Fair.

It forces the masses into the 'perfect communist state', as someone said to me once. Relegates everyone to a common, communal, or Communist, or communist-like existence of speech and thought.

Political correctness is often neither political nor correct.

    the real agenda is control.

When I first came, almost ten years ago, to message boards, I tried for a while to always keep it clean. Then I met the "non-progressives, the non-liberals."

What I dislike most is that they really believe they have a right to say the things they do, but if anyone fights back, they start whining.

I used to try to be civil, now I fight back, and I don't care at all about what is politically correct!

As a matter of real fact, the first and nastiest names I have ever been called were by so-called "Conservative" and Republican, and self-alleging "christian" women....

I call them all "macaroni mom" types now, which is another long story...

But PC is out the window.

And control, I don't want thought control from anyone.

More like totalitarian, since the Master decides even what you may think and speak. You know, like when the Church tells the State to burn heretics or the police beat demonstrators with buttons
