POLICE STATE: U.S. Federal Agents Push To Scan License Plates At Gun Shows...

If you have nothing to hide then don't worry, much. You could always take the bus?

When you want the government to protect your ass don't be pissed because they know where you buy your underpants.

How very Fascist of you. Congrats. You're officially a Nazi. WTG!
Your concern is "privacy"? What was long dead long ago. What keeps you "private" now is they know nearly everything they need to know, and don't give a fuck unless they need to. They are Big Data not Big Brother.

Like i said, you're a Fascist. You're a Nazi. You can piss off as far as i'm concerned.
You really, really need to grow up and start dealing with the real world, the one in which everything you say here ends up in a database and they know exactly who you are, they just don't give a fuck, usually.

I have no use for Fascist Goose Steppers like you. You're the problem.
No, little man, I'm not the problem. You are so focused on the idea that all of this is wrong and needs to be changed? Wrong or not, it goes against true liberty, it isn't going to be changed. Most people want the bad guys watched they just forgot one key thing, when you watch them you watch everyone. That is the price you pay when you can't deal with real liberty in which shit blows up and know one suspected a thing.

Your license plate number is not protected by any right of privacy.
And neither is your face in public, nor someone peeking up your skirt so they can take a pic of your panties. There is no right to privacy when you are driving around to sex shops, nail salons, or gun shows. And Big Data, not Big Brother, knows all about it.

Sure thing, little Hitler-wannabe. Whatever you say.

Federal agents have persuaded police officers to scan license plates to gather information about gun-show customers, government emails show, raising questions about how officials monitor constitutionally protected activity.

Emails reviewed by The Wall Street Journal show agents with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency crafted a plan in 2010 to use license-plate readers - devices that record the plate numbers of all passing cars - at gun shows in Southern California, including one in Del Mar, not far from the Mexican border.

Agents then compared that information to cars that crossed the border, hoping to find gun smugglers, according to the documents and interviews with law-enforcement officials with knowledge of the operation.

The investigative tactic concerns privacy and guns-rights advocates, who call it an invasion of privacy. The law-enforcement officials say it is an important and legal tool for pursuing dangerous, hard-to-track illegal activity.

Unless you're a gun smuggler, what's the problem?

That's funny, most all local police/sheriff precincts will tell the assholes the fuck off… Big brother always wants the fuck over its citizens. Lol

Some local law enforcement will refuse, but others will go along. It's very disturbing.

This is not only stupid but offensive and a attack on our 2nd amendment rights. Why don't they scan the license plates at liquor stores thousands are killed by drunk drivers.

Exactly, government should be allowed to put a camera in your shower and record you, so long as you are not committing a crime in the shower what's the problem.

How is a car in the parking lot equivalent to a camera in my shower? Try harder.

Privacy is privacy, hell government should be allowed to video tape your entire home, track all your movements, what you eat and drink, and one day hopefully even track your thoughts to make sure you don't have any thoughts prohibited by the government. Yes I'm mocking you, its brain dead people like you who screw up this country.

I'm not the one who's brain dead here. Google Maps has video'd all our homes, they can locate us via our cell phones and the GPS in our cars, our Rite Rewards cards record every item we buy. Every toll booth and major intersection we drive through is already recorded. Government uses a little technology to help interrupt illegal gun smuggling and suddenly it's a huge deal?

I love how righties shot on Black Lives Matter but then freak the fuck out over stories like this .

Don't mind the jack boots so long as they hassle brown folk.
Local police and sheriff precincts will never go along with fucked up federal government Orwellianism...

Are they refusing to use stop and frisk?
No, they are refusing to take the governments word for it.

Thank you Captain Incoherent.

Beware of Slippery Slopes. It's how we've arrived at this Police State. Let's not make it worse.
