Cops tackle, beat, pepper spray, pin, suffocate, kill innocent man.

Disturbing video of a police incident in an Oklahoma parking lot shows a man who had committed no crime dying after being roughed up and violently restrained by four cops–all while his grief-stricken wife watched in horror.

The man, 44-year-old Luis Rodriguez, died in a Moore, Oklahoma movie theater parking lot. Police were responding to a reported domestic disturbance. Rodriguez’s wife admitted to slapping the couple’s 19-year-old daughter in the face over a disagreement about the girl’s behavior. Rodriguez, however, was not involved and had not done anything wrong, according to local news reports.

But when police arrived, they wanted to question Rodriguez. According to the Moore police department, Rodriguez was not cooperative, and cops were forced to handcuff and restrain him.

Cell phone video shows the immediate aftermath of the restraining process. Several cops can be seen pinning Rodriguez face-down on the ground. One officer kneels on his back while others hold his arms. He does not move or speak at this point, and it’s unclear whether he is still alive. The officers seem unaware that anything is wrong, however, and continue to keep him pinned.

The footage was shot by Mrs. Rodriguez. Another officer kept her several feet away from her prone husband. Both this officer and Mrs. Rodriguez remain civil toward each other–at least until the ambulance arrives. At that point, Mrs. Rodriguez realizes that her husband is completely limp, and panics that he is dead....

Another man was suffocated to death by armed thugs in dress?

EDIT

WOW, I just finished watching the video.

They told her that she was out of line for slapping her daughter, but they were perfectly lawful and morally justified in suffocating her husband to death (for nothing).

Yes, he was being very polite to the woman, as his fellow Gestapo thugs slowly murdered her husband. Hey at least he was polite, right?

The words "not cooperative" can be interpreted a lot of ways. The words "roughed up" can mean anything and can easily morph into "beat up" by any editorialist. The incineration of 80 men women and children in Waco, Tx is an indication of a police state. Illegal government surveillance is an example of a police state. The accidental death of an uncooperative person during a domestic disturbance is a "police state" only in the minds of tinfoil hat libertarians and low information lefties.

Thugs. Murderers. Every one of them should be in jail. Every cop in America knows you can suffocate an obese person by putting all that weight on their back like that.

With that said, the video does not show the confrontation which led to five cops having to restrain him. One cop in the video said Rodriguez refused to show his ID. And for this he died.

Perhaps he was an illegal.

Average Citizens like you and i, would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law for such 'accidental deaths.' Police Officers shouldn't be treated any different. They murdered this man for no reason. They will have to be held accountable.

???

So you're saying that this was justifiable behavior by Government Agents?

Is this the behavior we should expect from all police in the future?

Would a regular citizen be able to walk away free from such a murder?

Oh you mean the people who murdered a couple of officers who were serving a legal search warrant? And then baracaded themselves and their guns in a building and hunkered down behind their kids?????

THOSE people in Waco????

No your best case for "police state"

Its one of the VERY best cases for a police state, despicable actions buy ATF and FBI

Looks like the Cops were justified.

He(or his wife, the video says one thing the story says another) hit his little daughter, the Cops showed up and asked him for Id.

He got combative and bloodied a Cop, was restrained.

His obesity and the restraint killed him, which is a terrible accident.

None of this is an example of a Police State.

His wife supposedly slapped their 19 year old daughter. All I could see is that he refused to show ID. I'm trying to figure out why he should show ID in this situation.

For the last time, a freaking police state is when government agents intentionally murder innocent people. The FBI sniper who shot Randy Weaver's wife in the face while she was holding an 18 month baby in her arms and was subsequently exonerated by a federal judge was an example of a police state. There is absolutely no evidence that the Police Officers intended to murder the subject in this case. Before you hysterical nannies get your panties in a bunch about a police state you need to consider a lot more evidence such as the toxicology result of the victim's blood and whether the Police were following legitimate protocol.

This is a tragic accident, asphyxia. It happens when someone is restrained and cannot breathe. It is not intentional.

It says the cops tried to question the man about the disturbance (Which they were SENT to after a 911 all). He refused, and became "uncooperative".

And there is the problem. If the cops are called to something you are involved in (crime or not, he was INVOLVED as he is there with the suspect/victim) they are going to ask you.......I don't know, something like "So what happened? Why did we get called here?"

When you become uncooperative, refuse to provide identification (they need it for their report, which would have said the man was innocent of any crime, not to mention under Terry vs Ohio they have a right to ID the man).........and the cops tell you that you are being detained, how about don't resist?

My God. Its not that hard to just tell the cops whats going on, toss your ID to them real quick, and move along.

99% chance this call would've ended with the cops leaving and clearing it with dispatch saying "Everything 10-4; Parental discipline, back in service".

But no. Someone had to be an idiot, and it leads to a horrible accident.

What should the cops have done? Just say "OH well guys, they aren't cooperating, lets just leave". That's not how it works.

I kinda wish America's cops would just say fuck it, and stop showing up. And when they show up and people are "uncooperative", they just say "Fuck it, don't want anything bad to happen, lets leave guys".

And just let society's chips fall where they may. See how fun that is.

While the cops have a job to do,a concerned citizen would wonder about a few things,1st how long do you think it takes to asphyxiate someone? and where is the training, this should have never happened, period!

Legitimate protocol,interesting?

Dead is dead,no cause for that guy to be killed and he was killed that night, its the total authoritarian attitude no matter what is the problem.
