Police State: City Shuts Down Hot Dog Stand Boy Opened To Help Disabled Parents...

Funny, this coming from someone that everyone else thinks is the stupid one.

You know, one of the benefits of being smarter than people like you is that I'm smart enough to know I'm smarter than you. Those of us who are genuinely intelligent don't get that wrong.

Anyone who ignores history and facts in favor of their ideology is FAR from being "intelligent". The only thing "genuine" about you is that you're a genuine communist and you're a genuine asshole.

You've just done an excellent job of encapsulating the typical intelligence of the typical conservative response to my posts.

Coming from the board idiot, I'll take that as a compliment.

My first advice to you if you have any desire whatsoever to be taken seriously would be to put an at least slightly more dignified picture of yourself in your avatar.

I still can't get over how thrilled the 'nuts here are at the idea that a thirteen year old would have to get a job to support his disabled parents.

That is the kind of medieval society the Right wants to return to.

Yeah, how dare someone learn personal responsibility, work ethic, and show appreciation by giving back.

So much better to build a Joseph Stalin Communist society where everyone is entitled, nobody gives effort, and the entire thing ends in collapse.

You're such an asshole NYcarbineer. Cuba is waiting for you and your failed ideology.

You're calling the kids' parents slackers and you don't even realize it. That's a knee slapper.

That's just it. The town council appears to be in the pocket of big business (comparatively speaking). The restaurant owners got this zoning ordinance passed because they didn't want the competition of the food carts. It's anti-capitalist.

and you know this because?

I read about this a couple of days ago.

if you read about the politics of it and still know where that source was, i'd be interested in reading it.

because right now, i'm thinking this thread is a lot of fauxrage.

there are a lot of reasons for zoning laws. but if this person invested in a business knowing the zoning laws existed, wouldn't you say the sympathy for this person is misplaced?

Well the next thing you know -- there'd be hordes of those Mexican taco carts, guys selling cheap shell jewelry, retards pumping bar bells, and half-naked folks skateboarding down the main street..

Hey wait -- Isn't that why people FLOCK to Venice Beach in LA?

Some folks just can't take all that stimulation and freedom. That's why we have Iowa and Maine. For the obsessively boring and neat and tidy.

apparently the restriction is for an area close to 5 restaurants or somesuch so they do not like competition from vendors.
Apparently the kid could do it other places. Although I expect there is a law against a 13 yr old preparing food for sale. most have health and labor laws against it.

The kid put all his savings into a business that he should have been able to figure out was only viable if he was allowed to operate it outside the law of the city he lives in.

I'd say he was the stupid one.

The party that claims to "care" is calling a 13-year old CHILD stupid for not understanding zoning laws while trying to help is disabled parents.

Spoken like a true communist asshole. Thank you for exposing the left for the cruel, heartless, pro-communist's you are.....

He didn't ask them if that location was acceptable, did he?

Did they think he was asking them if it was acceptable to run one outside the city limits?

Assholes will be assholes, and jerks will defend them.

The carts are not forbidden in the entire city. Try to get at least a modicum of understanding of the story before you comment on it ,eh?

Nope, just the part of the city where people are.

My suggestion, follow your own shitty advise instead of pretending you know the details when you don't.

I don't think a 13 year old can even legally work such a job in Michigan, for starters.

There's a reason that civilized countries make accommodations financially to take care of disabled people,

it's to prevent insane situations like this - children having to work to support their parents.

I am not in least however surprised (any more) that conservatives are perverse enough to think this is a good thing.

I am smart enough to know what Obama thinks of people like you.

I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there.

And this is exactly the kind of bullshit that gave rise to the Tea Party. American has woken up and is going to run the big government communist liberals the fuck out of this nation and over to Cuba where they belong.

When we're telling 10 year olds they can't have a lemonade stand because they don't have the proper permits, you know the idiot liberal has become full-fledged communists.

you talk that which is not true. the laws are made by all, repubs, dems. But you always leave out your party.
Zoning laws have nothing to do with communism, it has all to do with capitalism, no wonder you get dumped on.

This is not a zoning issue stupid. It's an enforcement issue. The laws were never intended to be abused and enforced on a 8 year old child with a fucking lemonade stand.

And since the GOP is nothing but 1960's big government liberals (did you see how much GWB grew government and spent?!?!) and Democrats are just hard-core Communists/Marxists/Socialists, it doesn't really matter who made the laws and who enforced them. It still supports my point that this is exactly the type of bullshit that gave rise to the Tea Party. This big government, over reaching unconstitutional monstrosity that is spending us into collapse.

That's patently false. There is no evidence that food carts can only operate in uninhabited areas. Don't be stupid.

btw
I read a summary of Michigan labor law and as far as I can tell a 13 year old can't even be doing this job legally.

You are smart enough to type words occasionally in coherent sentences. Beyond that you're a fucking laughingstock.

So the question is - why aren't you doing anything to help them? Here you sit typing away on you very expensive computer via your very expensive high speed internet, both of which are luxuries you don't need, complaining that people out there need help. Why don't you sell your luxuries and help this family?

Liberals can sure talk the talk, but I've yet to see one walk the walk.....

This from the guy that just admonished me to read the story before he comments.

He was planning to use the money from his cart to pay for his college and give a little bit back to his parents. Progressives call that taxes, and expect people to give it to the government because the government is smarter than any progressive who ever lived.
