That's actually probably the most important thing. The overwhelming majority of murderers are men. Why? In part because men are naturally violent. It's how our species has survived to this point. Women certainly weren't complaining about it when the hunters came home with their catch.

Now, though, it's kind of a burden. All that physical strength and aggression isn't really conducive to living in modern societies. And men are by and large lonely, isolated, and ignored in America, their problems pushed to the side to cater to women. And that's a major contributing factor. Part of the issue is that men are violent by nature, but another big part is the way men are treated, the environment in which they come up. The second part can be changed.
