I have no links ,just general conversations, supposedly Arnold is powerless to change it, Pelosi won't allow it to come up for a vote,(6 times) and it has to do with the Endangered Species Act.

It has to do with money. The water owners want to sell it south to the urban areas (80 million dollars every year). The fishermen want the smelt to spawn, the offspring to go to the ocean, and the fishing industry to catch them. It is all about money.

Well, with 40% unemployment, 1/2 million acres turned into a dust bowl, 70,000 plus out of work, a 36 billion dollar crop loss in Central California....

.... I find it very difficult to feel Nancy Pelosi's pain.

Here are farmers in California in the richest farm land in this country whose thousands of acres of farm land--that they have owned for a century & have worked for a century have been cut off by LIBERAL ECOMANIAC DEMOCRATS because of a minnow.

Environmentalists say the smelt is essential to the food chain, and that a decline in smelt populations has led to falling numbers of bigger predator fish like salmon and bass.

Late last year, the US government's Fish and Wildlife Service argued that pumping water out of the delta harmed the smelt.

Haven't Pelosi and her fellow Socialist Democrats done enough damage to California at this point? Many like to say "Well California has a Republican Governor so it's all his fault" but in reality Arnold is not a Conservative in any way and is actually closer to being called a Liberal. The real problem with California is that their State Legislature has been controlled by the Socialist Democrats for several decades. There is very little a Republican can do as Governor. Californians need to get rid of their Socialist controlled State Legislature if they ever want to see real improvements in their state. Til then California will continue its rapid slide into Third World Misery. Hey it is still a free country though and they are certainly entitled to be stupid and keep on voting for more misery. Just take a close look at all areas of this country controlled by Socialist Democrats and you will quickly see that they have all become Third World Nightmares. Pelosi is a federal legislator that represents one out of 54 districts in California.

that's a long time. a ship i served on home ported out of mare island in frisco back in the 60's. Calif was of course, so much different back then. I had a blast out there. haven't been back since 70.
