I can understand congressional Republicans smiling —— the insurance industry put a lot of money in their pockets for their votes, but why in hell is Trump smiling like the town clown after Paul Ryan made a fool out of him?

President Donald Trump (C) gathers with Congressional Republicans in the Rose Garden of the White House after the House of Representatives approved the American Healthcare Act, to repeal major parts of Obamacare and replace it with the Republican healthcare plan, in Washington, U.S., May 4, 2017.

Had that asshole understood a president’s authority when he was campaigning he would have known that presidents are salesmen for Congress. In short: Trump had no business making promising he could not keep. Selling Obamacare-lite for Paul Ryan & Company was the rigid rod of reality being inserted you know where.

NOTE: Go to this thread for a few words about the previous salesman in the White House:

Super Salesman He Ain’t

Ryan and those Republicans who elected him to Speaker could have repealed the ACA within days of Trump taking office. Rather than full repeal:

. . . the House voted Thursday to repeal key parts of the Affordable Care Act and replace them with new provisions.

Bottom line: Obamacare is alive and well.

It is much more important to kill bad bills than to pass good ones. Calvin Coolidge

Bet your melons on this one: President Trump does not have the courage to veto Obamacare when he gets the final bill.

Finally, President Trump should have kept his mouth shut after telling Congress he would veto everything except full repeal. Had he done that Paul Ryan would have been up the creek without the president’s paddle.

The vast majority of Americans hated Obama because they knew he would veto repeal. Those same Americans will love Trump if he vetoes every attempt by Congress to keep Obamacare alive.

Well said! Look for a major shakeup in Congress if they don't do anything worthwhile soon.

. . . you have Democrats are going on and on about deaths that are going to happen because of the Republican healthcare bill passed in the House. Then you have Republicans claiming that they are on their way to completely repealing Obamacare. Both parties are lying. The American Healthcare Act (AHCA) is about 90% Obamacare and does not repeal Obamacare’s cost driving mandates. It actually increases federal tax subsidies for preexisting conditions, which will become a slush fund. The AHCA is not a private competitive system and does not repeal or significantly change the structure of Obamacare. Later, there is no escaping tragedy, the question is how to deal with it. The leftists take these horrific situations and nationalize them as if the government will fix them. Someone should remind Jimmy Kimmel that the vast majority of doctors and nurses do not work for the federal government. They along with hospitals, lifesaving drugs, health technologies and the vast majority of health care are provided by the private sector.

That's the thing about most of these bills......they are so complicated that nobody knows for sure what is going on.

Several things are for sure.
  1. The bill is in it's first stages and will change
  2. The Senate now has a lot of work to do
  3. Nothing is law yet
  4. People aren't going to die because of what happened yesterday
  5. Our taxes and our insurance costs will go down

The primary thing that everyone needs to keep in mind is the fact that this bill is still in it's early stages. It isn't a finished product.
Misinformation is going to be the tool of fringe groups.
I don't think anyone will get everything they want in the end, and that is how Democracy is supposed to work.
Democrats are used to getting everything they want, and I can tell by their behavior that they are mad as hell about this.

That tells me it's heading in the right direction.

If you pissed off a Democrat you are doing something good for the people of America.

Bernie Sanders, Democrats: Republican Health Care Bill Will Kill People
By Jason Le Miere On 5/5/17 at 11:01 AM

Bernie Sanders, Democrats claim 'people will die' under Republican health care bill

Democrats gave us the Culture of Death; i.e., killing babies, death panels, doctor-assisted suicide, sanctuary cities protecting murderous illegal aliens, and importing refugees with fatal diseases. Convicted murderers scheduled for execution are the only people Democrats want to keep alive. Now leading Dems are laying their own Culture of Death on everybody who wants Obamacare repealed. I think Norm Crosby is writing their material:

Socialist Sanders is a screwball. Democrat claim that the GOP bill will kill makes no sense at all. Not one life will be saved if any part of Obamacare survives. They should be all for it.
"House bill only repeals 10% of Obamacare"
NOTE: In the unlikely event Trump vetoes the final bill Democrats will side with Republicans and override his veto.

YES, there is law.

LOL

What makes you think the senate will do any better? This is exactly what they want. And you know it.

Every move they have made for as far back as YOU can remember or research has been designed to enrich Big Insurance, Big Pharma, the 1% and themselves. And you know it.

When they get finished with it, people WILL die but don't worry. It will only be the elderly, children, women, the working class, the very poor, vets, handicapped - And you know it.

You'll be fine though because you are a RWNJ traitor and that makes you immune.

Nope.

The GOP knows that the pussy grabber has absolutely no ethics, no morals, no opinions of his own and that all he cares about is money.

If they go against him, he will find ways to ruin him. That's what he has always done, it works for him and he's not going to change.

That's why sleazy Chaffetz made a run for it but came back to town to vote for the Rs "health" bill. He wanted to show he's still a good little suck up who will do whatever he can to put money in his own pocket.

To Luddly Neddite: Note that the fictional Count Dracula fears the Cross:

The opposite is true of bloodthirsty ghouls in real life:

It was only a matter of time before Abortion on Demand was going to find its way to the acceptance of euthanasia of society’s next most vulnerable.

That the practice of snuffing the lives of physically healthy psychiatric patients got a green light from the Catholic community only makes it all the more outrageous.

“A religious order in the Catholic Church, the Brothers of Charity, is responsible for a large proportion of beds for psychiatric patients in Belgium – about 5,000 of them. The international head of the order, Brother René Stockman, is a Belgian who has been one of the leading opponents of euthanasia in recent years. (Michael Cook, Mercator Net, April 28, 2017)

The ghouls are always expanding their “customer base.”

The death cult is gaining ground courtesy of political ghouls who see vote counts from left-leaning organizations who advocate both abortion and euthanasia.

Political ghouls like Queen of Abortion Hillary Clinton.

Providence laid a blessing on civil society when the Planned Parenthood Federation of America—fully expecting her to be president—crowned a self-admitted “activist” as its ‘Champion of the Century’, a title bound to be overlooked just as Clinton is widely overlooked now that she’s only one of millions of this century’s garden variety activists.

Abortion Opening the Floodgate for Euthanizing the Mentally Ill

It is not much of a stretch to connect Clinton & Company to Muslims in this dictionary definition:

ghoul (noun)

1. One who delights in the revolting, morbid, or loathsome.

2. A grave robber.

3. An evil spirit or demon in Muslim folklore believed to plunder graves and feed on corpses.

I pretty much gave up on President Trump doing one or two things for conservatives. I signed unto Trump because I thought there was a chance he might take the U.S.A. out of the United Nations. Clearly, he is taking the country in the opposite direction.

When it comes to a bread and butter policy, Trump hoped in bed with establishment Republicans because they would not go along with full repeal of Obamacare as promised. The way Republicans are heading for socialized medicine at the speed of sound I gave up on trump vetoing anything:

In the unlikely event Trump vetoes the final bill Democrats will side with Republicans and override his veto.
On top of broken promises, I had to conclude that Trump instructed Tillison to promote climate change horseshit that comes right out the UN’s play book. Notice that the Russian in the photo looks as happy as a pig in shit:

I pretty much gave up on President Trump doing one or two things for conservatives.
Ann Coulter did not abandon the SS Trump just yet, but she is putting on her life jacket:

So here's the problem. Trump has kept a few of his promises. He nominated Neil Gorsuch for the Supreme Court. He has nominated conservative judges for circuit courts. He has begun to cut back on environmental regulation excesses.

But on everything else, he has not kept his promises. In some cases, he even has done the opposite.

Blog: Trump's biggest supporter ready to 'jump ship'

Ed Straker goes on to list Trump’s broken promises without including Hillary Clinton:

Trump could keep one promise by sending Hillary to jail. Sad to say that from the way it is going Trump implementing Hillary’s agenda is preparing her for another run in 2020.

Conservatives will be a helluva lot sicker if Trump signs Obamacare-lite.
Here it comes! Or should I say there goes the US Senate:

Appallingly pathetic. For eight years Republicans promised voters they would dismantle Obamacare. They took in millions upon millions of political donation dollars on that promise. They ran on it. They were elected and re-elected on it.

And now some of them are breaking it.

Exhibit one of this two-faced politicking is Nevada Republican Senator Dean Heller who has now gone on record stating he will effectively stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Democrats to protect the failing Obamacare debacle.

XXXXX

And he’s not alone. Susan Collins of Maine and Bill Cassidy of Louisiana have also indicated a desire to protect much of the current Obamacare disaster.

Senate Republicans Side With Democrats To Protect Obamacare - DCWhispers.com

Hatred for Trump is so deep inside the Beltway that establishment Republicans will willing surrender their control next year just to lay the blame on him.
In the unlikely event Trump vetoes the final bill Democrats will side with Republicans and override his veto.
If Trump has any brains he will veto Obama-lite. Trump’s only sensible play is to force Republicans and Democrats to override his veto. A veto override lays the blame where it belongs. Trump’s tweets is his ace in the hole regardless of how the media spins it.
