Let's first address the difference between "Universal" truth and "General" truth. Universal means always the case while general means most of the time. The following thoughts are in regard to general truths:

There is a lot of discussion on the net about how the problem with the world is that it's aligned in a patriarchal system (men as the head of household/decision makers). Many people feel that this alignment is the root cause of all of the worlds wrongs.

In an effort to discuss issues with ultimate truth, it is important to note that, generally, women only have the rights that men allow them to have. By this I mean that in a society stripped of laws and law abiding citizens, men would rule by strength alone.

At some point in history, large groups of men allowed women to rise to equal footing. This did not happen by force, it happened out of a sense of what is right. Today, there are increasing numbers who are actively pursuing a world aligned thru a Matriarchy. In human beings, this is unnatural. It takes an active willingness to ignore everything about nature to promote this ideology.

So many of our issues today, are created by ignoring what is and focusing on "what should be". When we complicate things by ignoring simple truths, everyone is worse off.

I think if you look around the world most societies are patriarchal. Western democracies would certainly have to be considered the least patriarchal.
