Paris burning!!

Slyhunter is somewhat mistaken. According to Fox News, this is what Macron (paraphrasing) actually said:

French President Emanuel Macron, his political career in peril and his country engulfed in increasingly violent protests, pleaded with the country's employers Monday to give their workers a bonus and also promised a reduction in taxes in a bid to restore order after demonstrations have deeply shaken the nation during the past month.

The French president promised to speed up tax relief and urged companies to give bonuses to struggling workers by the end of the year.

"I would ask all employers who can, pay an end-of-year bonus to their employees," he said.

Among his pledges Monday, Macron reiterated his promises to raise the minimum wage and abolish taxes on overtime pay starting Jan. 1 -- several months ahead of schedule. He also said a tax hike pensioners faced would be scrapped.

All of the measures offered had been demanded by the yellow-vested protesters who have led four weeks of increasingly violent demonstrations against Macron's presidency, which is seen by demonstrators as favoring the rich.

Macron promises 'all means' to restore calm after Paris riots, pledges to speed up tax relief

Sly said: "He promised year end bonus checks, guaranteed jobs with living wages upon graduation from college, pay raises to pay the $7.00 a gallon gas price."

None of that is true. He ASKED for the bonus checks, not promised. There was nothing about guaranteed jobs with living wages, although he did promise to raise the minimum wage, and also nothing about pay raises to pay for gasoline. I don't know where this stuff came from, but it didn't come from Macron's mouth today.

And if anyone is seriously thinking about moving to France, I would advise you to think again. It ain't a good place to live or even visit these days. And things are not likely to improve there either, for the foreseeable future.
He said everyone who graduates college gets a guaranteed job whose pay with dignity.

Link? I think you are mistaken, at best. There's no way he can guarantee that, nor promise what he cannot deliver.
How am I supposed to link to something I just saw on tv?

I would suggest that you be more careful of reporting what somebody says on TV. Nothing in your link supports what you claim he said; if you heard it on TV, say so. Sometimes a given media outlet gets the story wrong initially, it happens. Below is a link to what he actually did say, which is quite different from what your account.

7 minutes on the nose he says it.

OK. Tell you what though, I will apologize to you profusely as soon as I see a quote from any credible news source that reports Macron as saying today that "everyone who graduates college gets a guaranteed job whose pay with dignity", or words to that effect. Or that he promised pay raises "to pay the $7.00 a gallon gas price". Or that he promised "year end bonus checks"; he said he would ask businesses to do that, but I highly doubt he can force anyone to do that.

Trump and the 25% of Americans who still support him are pumped by civil unrest in France.

The French people are highly educated and they demand representation from those they elect.

If the people here were as educated as the French, a lying asshole like Trump would never have been elected.

Too bad for you morons....we've still got the rule of law.

That's correct s0n....we could not possibly be happier. When we see progressive public policy getting train wrecked by the people, you realize who's not winning.:coffee:

No, he doesn't! He says NOTHING about guaranteed jobs for college graduates, NOTHING AT ALL!

I do not even understand why you are making these false claims, deliberately misstating what Macron actually said.

He says "we want a France where people can live in a dignified way with a college education" that's him making a implied promise that he's going to push it through parliament.
I see in one sentence he talks about college, in the next he talks about living a dignify way on their earnings. Your saying those are two separate topics that have nothing to do with one another. Kind of like our 2nd amendment and the militia clause.

Yes, Paris is burning! and it has nothing to do with gas!

It has everything to do with Globalism ....with forced immigration!!!

People are waking up worldwide!!!! :clap2:

And from that you get this: " a promise for guaranteed jobs with living wages upon graduation from college"? Damn, that's some stretch there, dude.

And you misquoted what he said, he did NOT say "we want a France where people can live in a dignified way with a college education", he said "we want a France where people can live in a dignified way FROM THEIR EARNINGS". I think he's transitioning to talking about increasing the minimum wage, which I doubt has much to do with those who have a college education unless maybe you are thinking that their college grads are working m-wage jobs. Maybe they are, I dunno but that IS two separate issues:

1. Better education, apprenticeships, and training programs and

2. Increase the minimum age

Ok, I'm done with this nonsense. If you want to restate what he said to suit your agenda, that's fine. France can do whatever they want, I really don't care. For me what it boils down to is a highly taxed country where too many people are barely getting by and being asked to pay more taxes for AGW causes. That ain't the only issue over there, but it seems to be the last straw so to speak.
