I‘m talking about Jerusalem, which is basically where it counts. Not the mostly uninhabited area known as Southern Syria, which is Israel today. In Jerusalem, according to the Ottoman census Jews were a majority In late 1800’s. And they had been there for hundreds of years, way before the Arabs Invaders. So this Arab myth that no Jews were there, is part of the great Palestinian hoax.
