Padded Bikini Bras for 8 Year Old Girls? WTF?

Do you think thats right? I mean I thought you were responsible for your children until they were 18 or the whatever the legal age for an adult is in your state, if I had a daughter and found out she had an abortion without telling me I would be mortified, how could the States do this to the parents?

if they're old enough to be bonking, don't you think that train has left the station?

I don't understand your reply to HG's concern.

This is something I don't get, not at all.

At 20 you are not mature enough to drink booze or buy porn.
At 18 you are mature enough to put your life on the line and serve your country.
At 16 you get to endager the lives of other by getting a drivers license.
At 13, you are not old enough, mature enough to do any of that. But you are mature enough to make the solo decision to snuff out the life of an unborn child.

You will excuse me if I'm confused how this works.

You can actually join the Military when you are 17 as long as a parent signs for you.

Hg, hg, *shaking head*....

Teens can get abortions anywhere without parental consent. This isn't unusual at all.

The "regulations" by which the abortion industry operates has zero checks, zero balances, and they do not provide any information to the public. Anyone who wants an abortion can get one. Anyone.

You mean to tell me that a 14 year old who has sex and gets pregnant has the wherewithal and understanding of abortion and all it entails (physically, psychologically and emotionally), and that her parent's needn't be notified .. that she can make that call all on her own?

:eusa_hand:

Not. A. Chance.

I thought of the concealment part too...not bad from a practical standpoint BUT that's not how they're marketing them.

Besides which, the concept of wearing a bikini and then trying to conceal anything, lol. I always thought the purpose of a bikini was to remove concealment!

The padding is to conceal nipplage. They make special t-shirt bras for grown women for the same reason.

Nevertheless, parents need to know, thats my take. The way I see it you don't get the right to any privacy until your paying rent, if kids can make choices like getting abortions the needs for parents are out dated.

I'll go with 18, but before that? No. As for the paying rent part, seems to me if the kid is 18 and behaving in ways you don't approve of, time for them to go. As a single parent that became clear to my kids at about 12. In order to go to college, they'd have to fund it themselves, through loans, scholarships or combo there of, or sue their father.

So, from 6th grade on, the mantra was: "When you graduate high school, you will either be enrolled in college full time or working full time and paying rent. Your choice." They all worked in high school for supplies and clothes, while maintaining grades and extracurricular activities that did qualify all of them for partial scholarships. Interestingly enough the one with pretty severe learning disabilities was offered full ride scholarship for music out of high school. Unfortunately she had to turn it down, both her counselor and I knew her academic skills were too deficient for university level work. She went to the jr. college and for the first time ever was actually provided the skills to succeed.

It took her 7 years to earn her BA degrees, but is on track now for finishing her MA in 2 years.

That's cool.

I tell my kids that if they have no plans on going to college after highschool we are having a moving party the day after the graduation party.

There should be a law banning those.

Seriously. How else do me know if a woman nearby is cold? :eusa_angel:

but parents aren't going to know. often it's a step parent or some other adult in the household who is responsible for the pregnancy in the first place. second i've always been of a mind that you can't legislate familial relationships that way. what you're talking about is forcing a terrified girl to go to a judge for intervention if, for whatever reason, she can't/won't go to the parent. i feel the same way about forcing women to notify their husband/boyfriend or anyone else in the event they want to terminate a pregnancy.

i know why you say what you do. but it's such a complex issue and people who demand parental consent are generally (not always) just trying to put up another barrier to safe access to abortion.

I am sure there are situations like you listed above but what about the teen girl who had sex with her boyfriend and than goes to get an abortion without the knowledge of her parents? why are we letting teen girls make a huge life altering decision like this, but they are not allowed to vote, smoke, drink or drive? should we just remove all the rules, and let the teens do as they please?

again, it's different. it's a uniquely personal thing. you can't really separate when a girl should be forced to tell and when they shouldn't. no one should have to go to a judge for permission to have an abortion...

not ever.

Unbelievable.

Using your logic, underage girls should be able to get whatever elective surgery they wish, without parental consent.

I understand but at the same time we are letting teen girls go through a procedure that can change their lives, maybe even change it to the effect where they cannot have children in the future, whats next though? letting the teen girls get breast enhancements? sex change without parental consent?

Jill,

What happens when the abortion clinic calls Mom and Dad with the news that thier daughter died during an abortion.

Will it comfort you to know; "At least she was not made afraid to talk to her parents."?

By passing parent responsibility is killing this country.

hooray for the 60's kids, they are achieving utopia, one dead child at a time.

Whatever happened to childhood? Is that gone too now, another casualty of our "hurry-up" culture? For heaven's sake, let kids be kids; I know there's not much innocence left, in this jaded age, but can't we let them have what little there is, to enjoy? They'll grow up fast enough ( yes they will, those of you who are still raising them through puberty and adolescence), and before you know it, they'll be all grown up, and it will have all happened so fast. Then one day, you'll look, and there will be a grown woman, standing where your little girl used to be; and if you're a dad, like me, you'll try to smile, give her a hug, and let her go start her own life; you'll walk her down the aisle, and give her to a young man you hope will love her, and you'll be happy for her, but you'll cry a little inside, because a piece of your heart goes with her; and the house will feel just a little emptier. It will all have gone by so fast; don't try to make it faster. Cherish those years, they're way too short and too few.

Well, if this is what the world is coming to, then let me give A and F a suggestion.......

Equal parity for boys, and pad the crotch of their speedos so that they look like they're smuggling squirrels in the front.

They're old enough to *bonk* as you call it whenever somebody initiates them to bonking.

So thanks, I want to know if my 13 year old has gotten knocked up by our 45 year old neighbor and is undergoing a risky medical procedure, probably at his behest and expense.
