Over 50% of US babies were born on Medicaid

Cant do anything about it? Well me and others like me will keep trying. We will keep voting Republican and conservative Republican at that. We will keep writing to our representatives to put a stop to all this nonsense. Because there is something seriously wrong with a liberal system like we have today where the poor are living better than the working in many ways. Per the OP: having more children than the working.

The thing you guys don't get, Ray, is that the GOP has been playing on your racism for 50 years now, and the welfare state never gets any smaller. It occasionally gets crueler, but it doesn't get smaller.

The welfare state won't go away because the alternative is riots in the streets...

we figured that out 50 years ago when Tricky Dick talked smack about law and order and kept expanding the welfare state, just like Reagan, the Bushes and now Trump. Trump couldn't even end CommieCare.

No...Proper use of birth control.. Or more responsible choices.
The system is broken, People are increasing their taxpayer funded "salaries" by pumping out more kids

Again- most people on assistance are only on it for a few years... what you describe in your fever dreams doesn't happen.

There are a lot of reasons why the poor have more kids than the middle class... but the welfare system isn't one of them.

Ray From Cleveland, post: 17842315,
Well that certainly explains a lot. You live in an area where you are never exposed to reality

Don't worry I see plenty of poverty when I go to D.C. I've lived in Detroit and Chicago.

What I don't see is why such a hardworking morally upright person of stature is forced to live in the worst neighborhoods of Cleveland.

So who lives in the worst neighborhoods of Cleveland? I live in the suburbs, however when government decides to destroy an area, little can be done about it.

The poor? If they want five or six kids, they just have them. Who is going to stop them? Who is going to limit them?

More proof your dogwhistle OP is based upon ignorance and racial stereotyping.

Figure 2: Ohio Births by Maternal Race - 2013 & 2014

Ohio Medicaid Paid Births: 2013
White 65% Black 29% Other/Unkown 6%

Ohio Medicaid Paid Births: 2014
White 65% Black 28% Other/Unkown 7%

And:

Nonwhite and younger teens have led the way in declining birth rates in recent years. Since the most recent peak in 2007, the birth rate among all teens has dropped by 42%. The declines among Hispanic (50%), Asian or Pacific Islander (48%) and black (44%) teens have outpaced this national average, while the decline among white teens (36%) has been somewhat more modest. Birth rates among younger teens ages 15-17 have also fallen faster – dropping by 50%, compared with a 39% decline among older teens ages 18 and 19.

Although the teen birth rates among blacks and Hispanics have fallen faster than among whites, the racial disparity in teen childbearing remains wide. Hispanic and black teens ages 15-19 had birth rates at least twice as high as the rate among white teens in 2014. Asians and Pacific Islanders had the lowest teen birth rate – less than half the rate among whites.

Why is the teen birth rate falling?

Since 2/3 Medicaid paid births go to white & non-black folks you could have posted a white video, just to be fair and objective.

So why did you try and turn this into a race discussion instead of a social safety net discussion?

We are talking about Medicaid here, not teen pregnancies as much even though that has something to do with it. It's not the issue just like race was not the issue.

But since you brought up race, blacks are 13% of our population, and you posted a statistic where blacks are making just less than half of Medicaid babies than whites. You should get a calculator to figure things like this out before you post something that goes against the point you're trying to make, because if blacks and whites were having Medicaid babies at the same rate, they would be making one-fifth of them instead of nearly half.

Oh bullshit. There are extended families that have been living off the taxpayer tit for generations. And why? Because liberal social policy has made non productivity too comfortable.
It boils down on one issue. Vote buying
