Im sure there is a small fraction of fringe progressives that support socialist views but I believe the majority on the "Left" are supporters of our Capitalistic Republic. Most are simply freedom loving, peace loving liberals who support personal freedoms, equality for the poor and oppressed, and environmental consciousness.
