WASHINGTON ― Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-N.Y.) claimed Wednesday that people who commit mass shootings are often Democrats.

The first-term Republican congresswoman made the comment at a discussion about last week’s Florida school shooting after criticizing the government for failing to act on several tips that might have prevented the deaths of 17 students and adults.

“It’s interesting that so many of these people that commit the mass murders end up being Democrats. But the media doesn’t talk about that either,” Tenney told WGDJ Talk1300 radio.

Although law enforcement officials said there were “no known ties” between Nikolas Cruz and a particular white supremacist group, the 19-year-old suspect in the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School massacre had repeatedly expressed racist, homophobic and anti-Semitic views in private group chats, CNN reported.

A spokeswoman for Tenney did not immediately return a request for comment on or evidence to back up the congresswoman’s claim about the political affiliations of mass shooters.

Wow, that is so ignorant and vicious. Why would anyone say something like that - let alone a Congresswoman?

If so many of these killers were Democrats, as this Republican nit wit says, why is it the Democrats and progressives are the only people demanding stricter gun control regulations? As usual, the conservative logic doesn't stand up.

Just as their logic "it is people, not the guns that do the killing" does not stand up. Why? Just try throwing a bullet at someone and see how little damage is done. Anyone can see it is necessary to use a gun to propel that projectile. Without that gun, the potential murderer hasn't the power to cause the many deaths attributable to bullets.

If conservatives can't follow that thinking, then try this. There is no reason to feel concern that the North Korean leader is developing nuclear weapons. Carrying the conservative logic of guns to the next level means nukes don't kill people... well, you know rest.

What, the comparison of guns to nukes, of course it's stupid. It mirrors the stupidity of the gun nuts who repeatedly claim it's not the gun doing the killing. How, without a firearm, can a mass shooter kill?

Learn to recognize intended convoluted logic, used to point out the stupidity of conservatives' constant convoluted logic.

You are probably too young to remember the TV show, "All In The Family" when it was in first run episodes on CBS. The main character, Archie Bunker was a master of the conservatives' convoluted logic of the early 1970s. When he argued gun control with his liberal daughter, he asked her since she was opposed to guns, would she be happier if the victims were pushed out of windows to fall to their deaths instead. The logic of the conservatives has gotten far more ridiculous since then.

You must also learn to understand, any attempt to address such an idiotic mindset as that held by the vast majority of conservatives requires sinking to their extremely low level of reasoning. Facts are useless when confronting conservatives.

Tenney made the claim in an interview with radio host Fred Dicker, exactly one week after the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla.

“Obviously there’s a lot of politics in it,” Tenney said. “And it’s interesting that so many of these people that commit the mass murders end up being Democrats, but the media doesn’t talk about that either.
